I am glad to read about how much fun you had at the Neil Diamond concert. When I was 12 an uncle that worked at a radio station got tickets to Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars and gave them to me and a couple of friends. Back then the people at concerts were usually older teens. A young Neil Diamond peeped out from behind the curtain while a different performer was on stage. I was in the second row and somehow caught his eye. He smiled and waved at the little girl who had caught him. After his performance, he blew me and my friends a kiss and pulled off his neck scarf (Ascot?) and threw it to me. An older boy behind me reached over me and grabbed it out of the air and everyone around him fell on it like a pack of rabid wolves. They tore it into tiny pieces and I didn't even get one of those pieces and Neil admonished them over it. So that is my memory of Neil Diamond. Always have loved his music.
