When I started 3000 seemed impossible
I saw a thing to try to add 100 steps every few days. I tried it and it worked. After a few months I was regularly getting over 8000 steps during the day without thinking about it, then I would go for a walk to make up the other 2000. I found that as my body became used to the higher steps that I just do a lot more automatically.
