He also told Ken he needs to give up salt, smoking and sugary foods. Ken said he is ready to start feeling better so we will see how this goes! His primary care dr put him on Metformin a month and a half ago because his A1c had gone up quite a bit (7.2) but talked like Ken was borderline diabetic. The cardiologist said any one with elevated sugar levels like that is diabetic no matter what any one wants to call it. The cardiologist doesnít mess around or mince words. He told Ken that if he wants a better quality of life and to live he needs to get his blood pressure under control. He said that for every cigarette he smokes it raises his BP for 30-45 minutes and if he smokes a pack a day, he is just asking for trouble.
Please pray that Ken can get his smoking stopped. He is always so stressed about things. I donít dare mention any bill that is coming due because then he sits and worries about that! He has been feeling so crappy lately, but I am hoping that his health will get better! I will keep you posted!
