The why is not
what matters so much and is usually a many-sided problem anyway. One thing is that part (most) of it is out of your control. I had a doctor sit down and explain it this way to me recently. It's not just that we turn to food when stressed because we have a food addiction, it's that when stressed our bodies produce hormones that turn on the hunger center but it also turns on hormones that slow the metabolism way down causing a vicious cycle of eat-gain-eat-gain. Don't beat yourself up over something that you have little control over right now. Just do the best you can. (hugs)
