A friend's downfall was her love of sweets. When her health got so severe that her doctor told her that she had to lose weight she decided to go out once a week and split an order of a scrumptious restaurant dessert with her husband but she only gets to eat that dessert if she stays on plan all week. It's her reward. Other than that they now have no sweets around them. Sometimes they don't even eat out, they just go out for dessert and coffee. They just never bring sugar into the house now. She plans all week where and what dessert she is going to eat. She has lost over 50 pounds and her husband who was on diabetic medication has lost over 100 pounds and gotten off all medications. Other than that they eat off salad plates instead of the big ones and don't have seconds. Sometimes it can be so simple. I think that your plan has a big change of success!
Have you thought about having a why? What can motivate you when you are experiencing emotions that you usually eat? What can motivate you when you want to throw in the towel and quit or even when you just don't want to be bothered? Could you make yourself a vision board and put it in the kitchen, on the pantry door, on the fridge door or somewhere that it might make you think again before you get derailed? It can be whatever size you need. I am sure the first things on that board would be those cutie grandbabies of yours. How about some graduation, wedding photos and newborn babies from magazines to remind you of the things in their lives that you want to look forward to. Is there anything that you dream of doing that you could do at a smaller size or if you are healthier? Perhaps riding a Disneyworld ride with one of the grands and you fit easily into the seat? Or those tiny airplane seats fitting just right as you fly to your dream vacation. An average sized woman, not a starlet or model on the beach in a swimsuit without care or joining a swim team? What would you do without a thought if you were a smaller size? They tell us if we can visualize it then we can and usually will do it. You can do this!
