Mine
No rain for 4 more days. I walked around my backyard and picked up mud in various places to see if it smelled like fuel. It's further into my yard than they have been treating. HAZMAT is coming back this morning so I have to show them. I typed this all up on here 2x Saturday and lost both posts so gave up. I'll try again. This HAZMAT crew is contracted by Virginia Department of Environmental Quality to clean this up but the HAZMAT guy, Steve, said they are actually paying for very little to be done. It's really bad at my neighbor's. Much of her backyard is going to have to be excavated. DEQ will pay to have her fence taken down and dirt brought in but not to put the fence back up. Not sure where her homeowners kicks in. It's all confusing. Steve said they aren't going to pay for my yard to be excavated by the fence so he will continue to spray it with this stuff designed to break up.the fuel and change out the soak pads. I have no idea how long it will be before the dogs will be safe to run out there. In the meantime, we have to leash them up several times a day to go out. I want to walk Cosette but she is a pisser when it comes to putting the gentle lead on. I just couldn't fight her over it this morning so, no walk. And, I thought the mud was bad! Didn't expect diesel fuel mud! Not sure there's a gratitude in here but wanted to update you guys. Planted a few more things yesterday. Only good thing about all this rain. I can plant stuff because the ground is so saturated. Rainiest winter in Richmond history. Sunshine. Sleeping well
