no real appetite is the least of my worries and I am so thankful my health issues turned out the way they did : )
I am just so surprised that I miss the desire to eat so much......I am so shocked that I am not thrilled....feeling this way I can lose weight easily. I should be thankful and I am so surprised that I am not. - Hmm...

that is interesting. I still enjoy food, but don't enjoy the guilt that comes with eating too much. I also don't enjoy being a victim, and I remind myself often that eating in a sane and healthy way is best for me. There are some foods, some meals, that I really look forward to. I need to make sure it's the meal I'm looking forward to, and not the relief that emotional eating gives. Food is fuel, and we should enjoy our fuel.

she said that it was a terrible feeling to not enjoy food and eating the way she did before. She said it was a pleasure that we take for granted until it holds no joy for us again.
I'm sorry you are struggling with this Lianne. I hope somehow a happy medium comes eventually... the love for eating, with the ability to resist OVERdoing it. Best of both worlds.

I know that after my gastric bypass, I lost that crazy desire to eat. It was just the small stomach; it was the desire. I've heard of people who really struggle after GB because they crave so much and WANT to eat but can't due to the surgery. I was blessed as my desire left for almost a year. There is a reason that happens to some people after GB. Some chemical (geralin...that's probably not right) is deminished after GB and it is a big part of why people overeat. Stay healthy no matter what you eat or don't eat! - Very interesting

I can definitely relate to the "live to eat". I still do to this day. I think for about the first 6-8 months after surgery, I didn't but I certainly have since then. I get great pleasure from eating so I can relate to your post, Lianne. However, I really don't want to struggle every day of my life ~ but I'm pretty sure I will.
I hope things are improving for you every single day. When is your surgery again?
