The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

My Gratitudes for Friday
Posted by Delta on 7/7/2017, 10:25 pm, in reply to "Gratitudes for Friday "
Seeing so many of the gang all here today. Love it when everyone posts. |
Excited for Shirley selling her house and moving into a new condo. I hope it is more accessible and easier to maintain for her.
Thinking of Paula and Beverly both going to Cape Cod soon. I love that place.
My son's love for roses. He came by it naturally; I and both his grandmothers have always had roses. Every house he has ever had he plants roses. My DIL is not a big fan of roses, she can take them or leave them so it's no doubt he plants them for himself. He also gives me rose bushes as gifts, which I love.
We got so much accomplished outside today. We had not mowed or weeded in 16 days. It has rained every day since we got back from vacation and we had a chance of rain today, but it is higher tomorrow so we got out there and got 'er done. With the boys help we also got about 12 large lawn bags of leaves raked up that had blown off our neighbors oak trees during a storm into the corner of our property and piled up knee high in an area about the size of an Olympic-sized pool.
Refrigerator pickles from the cucumbers in our garden. Everyone here eats them like candy.
I am into Knockout roses

They are so pretty and don't require much fussing.|
I used to have the whole back wall

of my fence in double knockout roses. They were extraordinary! The man who bought the house tore them all out even though his wife loved them and begged and begged him not to. He didn't like mowing around them. We also had 5 or 6 huge oaks that were there when we moved in as well as a plum and peach orchard (it was a big lot) He had all them cut down too so he wouldn't have to mow around them. Then he complained about the sun and how hot is was there. DUH! Everyone in the neighborhood thinks he is crazy. |
I haven't planted knockout roses here simply because they get too big for the space I have and it has a lot of crepe myrtles taking up room already. I only have a space 3 feet wide along the back fence to try to cram in as many favorites as I can.

Your house sure did sell fast! I am so glad that you were able to get a condo. I hope that it is just right for you and you are very happy there. I love it when you are here. Missed you so and it is just not the same without your gift of encouragement. |
Congrats on the new condo!

Didn't fall on my right elbow and knee yesterday. Tumbled to the cement walking out of work. Landed hard on my left knee and arm. My left elbow isn't in great shape but it's better than my right for sure. I would have destroyed my right elbow. Bruised and swollen knee and scraped up a sore arm and shoulder. could have been much worse. |
The weekend is almost here.
Nice birthday. Still have lunch with my sister and dinner with friends next week.
gotta run for the bus
Please be kind to yourself

I hope that you are okay. Glad that you didn't fall on your bad elbow. Small blessings I guess. I hope that ice and rest over the weekend can set you right again. Do you know I love it when I get here and I see that you are here. I don't like your new schedule |
Hope you're ok Paula!

I know exactly what you're saying though. When we have an injured body part / weak one, we always worry we're going to re-injure it. Hope you're ok!|

Cinq Choses Pour Moi
Posted by Krista on 7/7/2017, 7:41 am, in reply to "Gratitudes for Friday "
1) starting today I'm working at the radio station for a week (off Sunday) and that's always a fun thing! |
2) eyelashes looking good. Only Day #2 so we'll see how it goes (Typically they last 7-10 days but this is a new type of glue so time will tell)
3) Ray and I are having friends over on Saturday. Smaller group this time which will be nice - maybe 10-14 people
4) got a new fan at Costco for Ray for our bedroom. It's nice and quiet and has a remote control and timer in it
5) Lotus (the new grand daughter who was born last Saturday) was able to go home yesterday with her family (Ray's son). She has very small (under 5 lbs) and had jaundice so we're very glad she's doing better and home now. We'll go meet her tonight
Glad that Lotus was able to go home
Posted by Delta on 7/7/2017, 10:33 pm, in reply to "Cinq Choses Pour Moi"
It's kinda scary when they are so small and have something wrong too. I know that people are very blase about jaundice these days but it can be dangerous if not treated properly. Have fun at your party!|
Posted by Krista on 7/8/2017, 7:57 am, in reply to "Glad that Lotus was able to go home"
She's still under 5 lbs but the specialists all said she was good to go home. Has to have formula in addition to breast milk to gain weight and she has an appointment on Monday at the doc to ensure that all is well. So so tiny! |
Lotus ... such a pretty name. ..
Posted by Beverly on 7/7/2017, 7:45 am, in reply to "Cinq Choses Pour Moi"
Glad she was well enough to come home |
