The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

My kids and grandkids. |
Had a day without company. Have had company for a week on top of running to the doctor every day. I love seeing them but it was rather taxing this time when I was not my best. Hated to see them go, but it has been nice today to be alone for awhile to recharge my batteries.
That my son and daughter-in-law both learned to save at a young age and had some savings built up. They needed new siding and windows so they bought that with their income tax refund this year. Since then, in June, they have had roof damage from storms twice, the ceiling fell in during one of the storms, their AC went out the night before last and their water heater went out last night. They also had a tree that had gotten a disease and the top blew out of it into their neighbors yard, just missing their house and they were afraid the rest was going to fall on their house or one of their neighbors so they had to have it cut down which required a crane since it was so tall. The cheapest bid was almost $4000. It had gotten into their fence so it tore the fence down and they have to replace that. They also discovered last night that somehow the rain was filling up the passenger side door of his car so they have to get that fixed. So much for savings, but it was good that they had it when they needed it instead of depending on us and her parents to bail them out.
We had such a beautiful day today. The temps were perfect. The temps are already down to 68F and it is not even dark yet so it will be a nice cool night. Too bad we can't have the windows open.
My husband informed me last night that one of our major leasees had renewed a 10-year lease. We were holding our breath because they were talking about restructuring and closing a lot of stores and that is one of the newer buildings. We still have a 10-year loan on it. It was sure a relief that we won't have to be beating the bushes to find a new tenant to pay the loan on the building.

Rain expected. Good for all my new plants |

Sleep Number bed...love it
Looking at Paris apartments. I'm thinking about going October 2018. My friend who lived there said it will likely be cold and damp but I want to see my city in Autumn..and cold is relative
African Violets blooming on my desk here and at home.

1) enjoyed my first day "off" - went to the gym in the morning and at night, took bottles back and looked at sneakers. Napped. Life is good. |
2) deer in our yard - almost every day. One is visiting right now.
3)teaching this morning and it's such a great bunch of people. Hopefully a lot will be back after being off for the summer
4) lean ground beef on sale for $2.97 / lb. That's REALLY cheap for Saint John so I'm going to stock up
5) other than teaching this morning and an hour and this evening for 1/2 hour, the day is mine. WoohOoo!
