The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

I was feeling lucky yesterday (found a white feather and new penny) on my morning walk, so we decided to go to the casino for an hour or so. We walked out with $160 of their money. My LUCKY Day! |
Had a long, fun chat with Scott last night. He was in such a great mood....all excited over the huge amount of snowfall. He's definitely a little boy at heart! He makes me smile.....
I tried making one of thos "Impossible Pies" using Bisquick. I made the Impossible Cheeseburger Pie, and it turned out to be quite good. Bill said he'd eat it again, so I guess that's a compliment. I get tired of cooking the same things.
Our Sophie Rose. She's everydoby's buddy. People going by in their cars stop and want to pet her when we're sitting out front. It's so neat!!! She lays completely up-side down....with her legs splayed....no modesty at all! So funny - -
WOOHOO! Congrats on the win!!! nt

Cinq Choses Pour Moi

1) Ray's putting up backsplash in the kitchen today. ENERGIZER BUN BUN continues! |
2) even though I gained 4 lbs this week - BOO - I am still down 24 on keto since I started Nov 22. Going to buckle down again after my birthday
3) having a piece of cheesecake tomorrow with lunch with Dad / Paul / Ray / my aunt. I haven't had cheesecake since MARCH 22
4) although it's taking a long time, slowly health issues are being addressed. To be honest, I don't know if I can wait 'til May 13 for my cat scan though. My side pain is really troubling me. But I'm thankful as things could always be worse
5) on the air today - even though I am grouchy. Hopefully it will cheer me up!

I'm glad you got so much accomplished already! |
That is a long wait for a CT scan...but a lot of the things are being addressed so hope you have some peace of mind.

A slow wake up on Saturday morning with a hot cup of coffee. |
Have some chest congestion so not planning on doing much this weekend BUT I do have to go clothes shopping...yuk...because I don't have anything to wear to my interviews next week. Same job, just one part on Tuesday and one on Thursday. One of the women on Thursday doesn't like me so we'll see. I'd be in the actual Psych dept doing therapy instead of the ID Clinic where I was hired to create a mental health program. Very proud of how all the latter turned out.
Have almost decided that I am going to go on my trip no matter what. The money will be tight but my biggest concern is, of course, the animals but I was thinking....I'll be EIGHTY in 16 years so if not now, when?
Think I can finish my taxes this weekend and Bill finally called Fidelity to send out the form he's missing so I can do his. His whole $3400 or so refund is going on my credit card to pay off the bug bill.
I will find a way to make the changes I need to make when he leaves. It's going to be much more work on me, less income and major changes for the pets, but we will find a way.
Paula, did you mention

your concerns/situation regarding your pets with the vet or vet staff? I was hoping they might have some suggestions for you. They know a lot of kind folks and have many, many connections. Just a thought.|
OK misread your post!

and told you all about Gianni's recovery. |
I am thinking through many options.
Unfortunately, I asked Bill if he plans on going back to the place he got the bugs and he said he probably will. If he didn't that would have made things manageable.
My neighbor will feed Charlie on my long Thursday
I've asked two neighbors to let Charlie out to pee during the day if they have time and are so inclined. He is old and bladder isn't real strong. He will use pee pads but feel sorry for him if that is the option.
No one can really feed the cats because the 2 boys hide and Roxy would eat it all. For them, it's just a matter of them getting used to eating later.
I am thinking about how I might change my work hours to make things a little easier. It would mean giving my Mondays off partially up which is a bummer. I love having a day off during the week but thought I could work at the hospital 4 hours in the morning, come home or run errands until I have to leave for the practice at 3:30.
That would open up the possibility of me leaving the hospital early enough on Thursdays to come home, feed everybody, let Charlie out and head to the practice to be there by 5.
I am not going to have the extra money to pay for a pet sitter and, again, it wouldn't help with the cats anyway.
As I daydream about my 26 day trip in October, I'm not sure what I'm going to do but have time to figure it out. There is an overnight pet-sitting service in my area. I contacted them and the price would be something like $1400!! Maybe one of the vet techs would do it for less but being away from your own home for almost 3 weeks isn't everyone's cup of tea.
Altered work hours sounds like a great solution

I think it's awesome that you're in a position or positions (you have 2 jobs right?) where you could be able to work flexible hours like that. Most people wouldn't have that - it's great that you do!|
Glad to hear you're figuring things out...making plans...and considering options....

to report back! He is eating fine and back to his old self. |
I've looked through the litter box for he past few days, looking for the big event. I think I expected this huge cigar-like thing to be in the box but there's been nothing like that. Gross, but there have been big, big clumps of diarrhea so I think it all came out that way. It has to be out because he's not in pain and is eating normally.
I have to give him Pepcid 2x/day and Flagyl at bedtime. He is the first pet I've EVER had that would take meds in a pill pocket. Feel so lucky with that. Pilling writhing cats is no fun!
Vet's office called Thursday and vet called yesterday to check on him. Vet feels comfortable that he is ok.
Thanks for checking!
