The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

It's a beautiful morning....lots of sunshine. It's supposed to warm up today....hopefully, we'll be able to get outside for while. We both feel "caged" when we have to be indoors all day. |
My brother's wife called. She never calls unless something big/bad is happening. Sure enough, she called to let me know that my brother isn't doing well and had been hospitalized for over a week. Great! And, I'm just now hearing? The good news is that he meets with his team of doctors tomorrow so they can decide what needs to be done. I spoke with Tom for a few minutes, and we had several good laughs....just like the "old days". I love/miss him!
Today is Sunday....The Day of Rest....and, we will be doing just that. I's time to trim the rose bushes and just sit out and have a beer or two. I'm sure a couple of the neighbors will stop by. Sophie will love it.
We're already talking about our return to Michigan at the end of April. I'm missing everyone. It gets a little lonely for me in Vegas even tho the kids come to visit and we're always on the phone. It's just not the same. Plus, hearing that both my sister and brother are having health problems, I feel the need to be nearer to them. I'm sure you all get that.
Hope your brother is on the mend.

Heard from Shirley. You guys might think I'm nuts for doubting it but I just hope she gets in touch with someone off the board. Some may think it was the wrong thing for me to do but I just want to know the REAL Shirley is REALLY OK! |
THe family came to take my piano yesterday. I think I've said that she is a piano teacher and is getting the piano for her little (like 3 and 5) granddaughters. She brought me a car they had made with sparkly stuff on it and, inside, they had drawn the outlines of their little hands to show me how they would be playing the piano. It was SO precious. The woman also gave me a butterfly wind chime-like thing with a note that said that when I hear that, I can think about the music the little ones are learning. So happy to know my piano is going to such good people.
Got some of the house picked up. I am pretty overwhelmed with all the cleaning and yard work there is to do. Physically, I just can't do some of it. I can't get on my knees; I can't scrub stuff because of my elbow. It's my inability to kneel and this very painful elbow that hold me back the most. Just having to do the more I've had to do so far, has my elbow inflamed. It's killing me just to lift my cup of coffee to my mouth this morning. I am going to need help but will not have the money to get it unless I get a significant raise which will not happen at my current job. Hoping I am called to interview and get the new job...that raise would be 9-12% increase and, with cutting my cable and having Bill off my phone plan, I'd be back to where I was when he was here. My other option is to add a couple more hours a week at the practice. I told myself that one thing I wouldn't do is work more but will have to weigh the trade-offs.
Realizing how out-of-shape I am and how inflamed my whole body feels, TELLS me SHOUTS at me that I have to work on my health again. Yesterday, I took Charlie to the vet and stopped at Chik-Filet to get him some nuggets. i decided to have chicken! and ate 5 or six of them. All I ate the rest of the day was a ton of those Lindor candies and some potato chips...right before bed I felt a little hungry so had a PBJ and a glass of milk. Total crap all day except for the milk!
My neighbor worked on my ceiling fan and it's beyond repair. He said he will install a new one for free when I can afford it.
It's peaceful without Bill here-overwhelming but peaceful. I do think about him several times a day....24 years of doing that.
Spring flowers poking up...first crocus up and open, forsythia starting to bloom, my earliest peony pushing up...

I wish I had a magic wand my friend to take away the hard times from you and make 'em better. I'm glad to read there is some good in here but my heart aches for you on how much you are still facing. |
Regarding diet, I do really recommend this keto lifestyle. It's simple really and I'm never hungry. Slower weight loss for me but still 25 lbs since Nov 22 ...
Hang in there, Paula - - -

Things will come together eventually. I have to ask, do you do any type of regular exercise....like walking or stretching? I find both are good.....for body and soul! |
I feel imcomplete without my daily walk. Maybe you could walk Charlie a bit???? To be honest, I admit I don't know much about your lifestyle (or any of the gals for that matter).....but, I'm learning.

1) should have my car back this week |
2) catscan appointment scheduled for this Friday for my mystery side pain
3) 3 chiro appointments this week to hopefully make some progress on pinched nerve / tingling / achy arm issues
4) bacon! Zero carbs! Cooking up a package in the oven right now at 350C so I can have it on hand
5) friends covering my Body Pump classes at the gym for me this week while I take a rest for #3
Chiro has done so much for me since I was in my 20'S!
