The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

4th of July gratefuls
Posted by Delta on 7/4/2018, 12:05 pm, in reply to "4th of July gratefuls"
That I live in a country where we have an Independence Day. I am so grateful for everything that everyone has done and does that assure me the freedoms that this nation has. |
Traditions and memories. My dad worked 15 hour days 7 days a week for most of my childhood except for a few days out of the year that he would take some time off. Fourth of July was one of them. We usually went to the lake, often joined by lots of friends and relatives. The adults would fish, the kids would swim or ski (with supervision from non-fishing adults), we would have a HUGE picnic and in the evening our family would go back to my grandfather's before dark and assemble on his lawn for the fireworks at the golf course next door to my grandfather. That day was always one of my favorites out of the year. I still love those memories.
Antibiotics. Miracle drugs.
My plain, old fashion, daylilies that have been pollinated by some of my other daylilies and now have double blooms of a much creamer and prettier color. Since they are the old-fashioned kind they bloom all summer instead of having a show and over. I am so pleased with them. They also practically take care of themselves and we can mow up underneath them without hurting them so no week eating involved. Since they are getting prolific I am thinking of taking out everything along the back fence and moving some of them so that I have a whole line of them.
Playing the points game at Kroger. They usually have 4X points for gift cards. We have started going by to get gift cards for restaurants any time that we plan to go out to eat. Sure helps with the gas bills since we have three drivers in the family now so that we can go out to eat sometimes.

1. Independence Day! |
2. Help from the middle daughter getting our riding lawn mower over to the rental today (our truck is needing brake work!).
3. The ability to help Ken mow. I used to sit inside because I couldnít stand the heat!
4. The friendships we have on this board. Love you ladies.
5. A program that works and the willingness to work it!
You seem to enjoy

Every 4th, I wonder if my mom began feeling the stirrings of me coming...I wonder what I was sensing. I'm weird, I know. ;-) |
Watching Charlie waddle around the yard without his leash. Because he goes on pee pads when I'm gone, he's lost some of the connection between going outside vs inside. I take him for his walk in the morning and after 2 houses, he plants those legs and won't go any further. I've begun putting his harness on him but looping the leash under the collar. I just let him wander around. Today we did the side of the house and part of my neighbor's yard. He looks happy being on his own. He's so slow that even I could grab him if I need to.
Slept until almost 7:30
Good food week
Sue checked in!
Glad that you got

You've been on my mind. Your gentleness soothes me...like patting a restless horse on her head. |
Silly metaphor but it's the one that came to me.
I'm so happy you are on the other side of this ordeal.
That's probably one of the nicest

Cinq Choses Pour Moi

1) physio today with a new physiotherapist (other one on vacation). Like Beverly said, maybe he will have some other fresh ideas |
2) a card from co-workers at the gym wishing me "get well". I was blown away by their kindness and how many of them signed the card and had encouraging words. Really touched me!
3) weather is going to be gorgeous (sunny and hot) again today
5) lap band removal is 3 weeks from today
6) MRI moved from August 31 to July 12

It helps to have close friends who have relatives who work there. AWESOME to get this call today!|
A week from tomorrow?

Fantastic! I am sure that you will be glad to get it over with. I hope that you get good relief from that part of your pain. I am beginning to wonder if it could also affect your arms. Before having my gallbladder out I had horrible pain in my shoulders and upper arms for months. Nothing I tried for the pain helped. I thought it was from tension. I was hurting when I went into surgery, but when I woke up I wasn't hurting anymore. Must have been displaced pain from my gallbladder inflammation because they said it was extremely inflamed when they took it out. |
A week from tomorrow!
Posted by Krista on 7/4/2018, 5:23 pm, in reply to "A week from tomorrow?"
Yup! Every time I've had an MRI, I've been lucky to enough to know someone who knew someone and got it moved up earlier. I am really glad about this as well as the results will be there for the pain doctor along with the cervical spine MRI and the blood tests /EKG / chest xrays. I just have to get my family doc to fax it all over. The blood tests etc were for the lapband removal. |
Hopefully the pain doc will have the "magic solution" for the mystery hand / finger issues. Physio today gave me strengthening exercises and told me to do both ice and heat and that my tens machine is fine to use as often as I need. Moving forward!
I was interrupted
Posted by Delta on 7/4/2018, 6:30 pm, in reply to "A week from tomorrow!"
while I was typing and got a bit sidetracked. I was trying to say that with the lapband done soon also it might make some of the pain go away. Getting it all done before seeing the pain doc is GREAT! |
Wouldn't that be WONDERFUL?
Posted by Krista on 7/4/2018, 8:14 pm, in reply to "I was interrupted "
They started around the same time so I've wondered and asked in the past if it could be referred pain. My doc says there is no reason anatomically but I think that would be GREAT if it was! Praying!|
Love how you love your retirement
Posted by Delta on 7/4/2018, 12:33 pm, in reply to "Cinq Choses Pour Moi"
So many people just sit down and get bored after they retire or get a job they hate. I love that you stay just busy enough that you seem to love your life. Your co-workers love you, what else would you expect. |
They love and respect you! nt
