The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"
Gratitudes for Sunday.

Lots of sleep. I am not usually one to nap in the day and if I happen to nod off it is usually for only a few minutes at a time because I stop breathing. I was cold yesterday so after a late lunch, I put a throw over me while reading. I fell asleep before I got the first chapter read and slept soundly until 11 PM. My husband was sitting there watching TV and told me that I didn't snore or stop breathing, which shocked him with all this mucus I have been having. I didn't think I would be able to sleep the rest of the night but I was in bed by 3, went straight to sleep and slept until 9:30 this morning. I feel as if I need another nap already. WOW! Perhaps healing is taking place. Crossing my fingers. |
Only 9 days until I get my hair trimmed. It's beginning to get shaggy and bothering me.
Paula deciding what she wants and putting things in motion to make it happen.
How well the new meds the doctor started me on for the other problem is working. I'm amazed.
Starting a 3-day sugar detox today. I have had so many bags of Hall's cough drops and peppermint patties for all the coughing that I am craving sugar like crazy. If I don't stop it I'll start eating tons of the stuff. It's not terribly restrictive except for carbs and dairy and usually works.
Feeling crafty again. Haven't wanted to sew all summer for some reason. I love how sewing calms me down and makes me feel fulfilled too. Planning to start a cork wallet and a vinyl purse with cork trim to broaden my skills.

Come on, Krista, think about this carefully. You are teaching Cooper to equate food/treats with love and teaching him to become obese. You really don't want to be giving Cooper treats at night, for his health as well as yours. waking you numerous times a night can have an effect on your overall health and make your pain worse. Feeding people and animals is not really treating them it is making them fat. You don't want an overweight kitty just because you chose food to show your love. If he gets obese the vet will just make you take away the treats and maybe some food. How will he feel then? Use treats to teach then encourage actions that you want, such as crating every day so that you know it will be easy when he has to go to the vet if the only time he crates he has to go to the vet it will become a chore eventually for most animals. Use it a couple times a day to make him come when you call so if he gets out again he will come to you. Love him without treats, especially at night. Perhaps switch his night feeding to later so that he has things to eat while you are asleep. And I said this out of love so please don't be offended. My heart tells me to do the same thing but I have lived a life of being treated by grandparents and great-grandparents to show their love. When I need love now what do I do? Yep, you got it. |
Thanks for the suggestions

Cooper doesn't get crated and I leave food in his bowl all the time. You are right that I should break him of the habit -- right now he keeps meowing until I get up. I'm not offended in the least- appreciate your suggestions!|
You are so

well trained. It's the getting up that he wants. It would be just like you waking him from his day nops though. You know that is not nice. Trouble is that he has never learned that it is not nice yet and as his mommy, it is your job to teach him nice from naughty. It's just so darn hard to not let them have their way because they are so sweet and cute. |
I'll try letting him meow tonight

Just was easier to get up and shut him up but I know you are right!|

.. already treats in his bowl. Other couple of times, I just sat up and patted him. Good first step though |

Proud of you. A little less petting each time and a little more during the day will have you sleeping through the night soon.|
2 times last night

Mixed gratitude...My trip is only 7 weeks away....!!!! But I've squandered the time I had to lose a significant amount of weight. I have these dreams about one day walking around Paris and not having to check out different cafes in order to find one where I know the chairs can handle me....to not feel like I'm stuffed like a sausage in a plane seat.........Maybe, next time. I'm still 10 pounds heavier than last time I went. Makes me want to cry but that won't do any good. |
How well so many of you are doing with your weight journey
How much joy I get from following Heather's horses on FB. Love the pics she posts.
My lab work all came back within the health range except for the Triglycerides. The normal range for those is 150 and mine are 166. That's a 10 point drop from my last physical a couple of years ago. If I didn't have all of these ortho problems, I'd be in great shape (oh, yah, that depression thing....)I told her that I had been feeling bone weary and not sleeping well even on my meds and that I thought it was probably stress and just being unhappy. Turns out I was right!
A little cooler today.
Great on the labs!

Paula, even though you complained about going over each day you still lost so well on WW. I seem to remember you lost about 6 pounds every week but one and it was about 2 pounds. You still have time to lose 20 pounds or more before your trip the way you lose. I'm on team Paula and I believe you can do it!|

Had such a great time with family yesterday. My nephew (brother's son) and his wife came to spend the day with us and visit with the kids and grands. We're hoping we can get together once more before we leave. |
Bill & I made stuffed cabbage and all the fixings for our family dinner.....HUGE hit!
My new computer. I "think" it's finally up and running correctly.
Cooler weather....those 90 degree temps just wear me out.
All those leftovers to enjoy today.....NO COOKING!
Glad that you had such a good

time with your family! That stuffed cabbage sounds wonderful. One of my SILs used to make the best. I have a good recipe that I need to drag out and make. Thanks for the nudge. LOL how perspective works. We are so thankful for temps in the 90s. Feels so much cooler than it has been here. |
