The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

Bill picked a big zucchinni from the garden, and we made 4 loaves of awsome zucchinni bread. Yum! |
My nephew, Tom, and his wife want to come back to the lake in a couple of weeks to visist before we
leave for Vegas. They must have had a good time last Saturday.
Our neighbor shared some home-made pesto with us. We'd never eaten pesto before.....it was wolnderful. Now, we have to learn to make it ourselves....
Kari and Greg celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary yesterday. It was so much fun looking back over the wedding pictures. Kari was such a beautiful, happy bride! She hasn't changed. .

Sent off the email to the old clinic. Feeling sort of nauseous, wondering how it's going to land. I did get a quick response from the head of the whole hospital's Infectious Disease Division (ie runs the HIV clinic but is over the whole hospital and is the go-to when there is a community threat of some new infectious disease of any kind threatening the area). He said he would consult with his colleagues and get back to me. Said it would probably be next week. Have to get my mind set that I will be ok either way even though things at my current job took a worse turn today. None of us will have a space of our own. We will sign up for rooms to see patients and won't even have a cubicle that is just ours with our stuff...personal stuff like purse, phone, coffee cup; work stuff like workbooks, etc. We'll just land where we land. I need a quiet space that's just mine at times during the day. I will do the best I can do. There would be no more moving around the hospital and there is no place to go in the community that would pay anywhere close to what I'm making now....so I will have to make this work if the IDC doesn't open up to me. I can do whatever I have to do. |
Charlie is making a good adjustment to his new food
Ate on plan today until I got home from the practice and weighed...some gain of 4 pounds which I don't deserve. Answer? Eat peanut butter on two pieces of bread. GADS!
Cooler weather...lower 80s this weekend and no rain!
Much to be grateful for.
Glad they got back to you quickly

So good that they replied to you quickly. Most emails don't get answers that quick so that's a good sign. Breathe - he does have to talk to others. We're all rooting for you. |
And if they don't? Paula you know there will be HUNDREDS of lots out there if you want them. In the time I've known you, I think you've been turned down ONCE. You don't HAVE to stay at that hospital.
Look around for a job overseas when you are there. I have NO DOUBT IN MY MIND that the BEST POSSIBLE job is out there for you. None.
It will all work out

A wonderful weekend with Mom. Took her to get a haircut which she usually doesn't feel like. |
Had my granddaughter Lily for a few hours yesterday. Always fun. With caring for mom I don't get enough time with her lately.
Trying to declutter the house. Not so easy.
Have a ton of clothes that are too big. YAY.

1) going to see the receptionist at the shoulder surgeon's office. I don't like to call on the phone so I'm going to see if I can talk to her about getting an earlier appointment on be put on cancellation list. I have it typed out as well in case they are busy. Right now my appointment is Sept 24 (but that's just the initial look and then it's onto the surgery list which could be long) |
2) heading into my second week at the radio - working M-F and I have a remote on Thursday and on Friday
3) Ray painted the cement walls (foundation? ) of the house yesterday to brighten them up and also found a pair of shutters for one window that's been missing them (online yardsale link that friend sent us)
4) got to spend some time outside together which was nice. Sunshine, TV in the pub shed and drinks in hand
5) lapband removal a week from tomorrow!
