The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

1. All the work Ken and I got done yesterday! Mowed the front and back yards at the rental, and then came home and mowed our front and back yard! That was a lot of grass. Luckily we have a riding lawn mower. |
2. Kenís brother Dennis who helped us load all the tree branches and wood that we didnít want from a tree that had fallen down, onto a trailer so we could take it to the landfill and dump it. We ended up with a pickup load and a trailer! Quite an accomplishment!
3. Ken telling me how proud he is of my weight loss and my ability to help him outside like I do.
4. A day to rest before going back to work tomorrow. A little sore but not too bad. Itís atill nice to take it easy today. We still might tackle that area beside Kenís shop when he wakes up. Not sure yet.
5. Fly shatters!
Not too sure

what that last one is. I love hearing how much you are working along with Ken now and how much you seem to be enjoying it. I am glad that he sees it too and that he took the time to tell you how proud he is of you. Since my husband became Mister Grouch he always spouts off that he can't see it, that I look like I have gained and am bigger than I have ever been. I am nowhere near my highest and the fact that after losing 20 pounds and getting in a size smaller and he said that really hurts and makes me want to give up. I am so glad that your husband sees it and compliments you. |
Iím sorry that...

Your husband said that! What a stinker! Donít give up. Keep working your plan and you will be glad you did. Mister grouch can just get over it! |
As for the fly swatter comment. I hate flies, and if they get in the house I am glad I have a fly swatter to kill them with.

When I read fly shatters I didn't immediately convert the H to a W. I didn't know what in the world fly hatters were. Was it breaking flies? I can get on board with that. Was it the past tense of a group of pooping flies? Not on board with being grateful for that, I don't think. Glad you cleared that up. |

My mom and sister are feeling better and are okay. They had both been feeling under the weather lately. They got to feeling better and both needed groceries so they went together. Waiting to turn into my mom's driveway, with a signal on a man topped a hill doing over the speed limit and hit them. He tried to swerve to miss them but with deep ditches on both sides and no shoulders he swerved to the other side of the road and hit the oncoming car head-on. All three women were taken to the hospital by ambulance but luckily, except for bruises and cuts, everyone was okay. My sister's car was totaled as was the other girl's. The man's truck, not so much damage. Most of the groceries survived intact, too. My nephew teaches nearby and school had just got out when it happened. Somebody called him so he came over when he heard. He got the groceries into the house and refrigerated what was necessary before the tow truck took it away. |
I don't know if I am feeling better or just getting used to how I have been feeling. My husband says he can't tell a difference but I feel more energetic in my head. LOL My body doesn't quite agree with my head yet, but I feel like healing is finally taking place.
I got back on plan and started tracking yesterday. It was a good day. I haven't had an appetite lately so I haven't worried about it too much but the day before yesterday I was in the kitchen every couple of hours. I tried to make good choices but I seemed to be hungry every couple of hours. I figured that I better get on track or it will get out of control quickly if my appetite is coming back.
The meds the doctor is trying to try to give the other meds to have a chance to work is working.
My nails are so long and pretty.
Having a dishwasher.
Electricity that makes so many things easier in our lives. I got a dose of living without it for almost a whole day on Wednesday and have a much deeper appreciation of it right now.
Thank GOD they are all ok!

thanking God. Mama said that my sister had started telling her something after she stopped, said a few words, looked into the rearview mirror and sucked her breath in then BOOM. She said that when they stopped my sister looked into the mirror and later said that there was no one in sight. The man didn't get a ticket for speeding but one for following too close. I guess 10 car lengths was too fast for the speed he was doing. In their state at least following too close has a much stiffer fine than speeding. |

I am so sorry to hear about your mom and sister. So glad they are ok! Glad you are also feeling better. |
I used to have nice nails-but they were acrylic and after 5 years of having them done every other week, I decided there was better ways to spend my money! Wish mine grew nice like yours!
Like you I love having a dishwasher!
Thanks Cindy. I am so glad

they are ok too. LOL. Like I said I have only had nice nails three or four other times in my life, all because of pregnancy hormones and whatever it is after anesthesia that makes hair and nails grow like crazy for a while but also die early and fall out as far as the hair went. It must have been one of the myriad of drugs they have had me on trying to get me to start healing that did it this time. Gonna enjoy them while I have them because I figure they will go back to splitting soon. |

- I slept so good last night |
- My cousin Lou got out of the hospital yesterday. His mass in his kidney is the same one they looked at a year ago with no difference,!!! Yay. They don't know why he was so very sick for 2 weeks. Lots of test. Sometimes the doctors can tell you what you don't have rather than what you do have. So grateful he is home. Rachel is so very happy too, of course.
- fall mornings
- plentiful clean water.... so very grateful
- Mom had a good day yesterday... grateful
- best crop of tomatoes and pepper this year! Murray loves to share the wealth... he's the tomato man... giving away lots of tomatoes. LOL (and peppers too)
- you ladies... can't imgine life without ya all.
friends, family, you all, fb, internet, car, cell
Grateful that your mom had a good day

Another cool, sunny morning. Fake Autumn for sure but I will take it! |
Charlie walked almost 7 blocks this morning without me prompting him. All summer, I've had to drag him to go two houses! The coolness probably a little to do with it but I think it is mainly because he is on weight control food and has dropped a couple pounds. It's full of fiber so you know what that means but, oh well! At least it is firm!
Going to lay out my clothes today to make 'last cuts' in what I'm taking on the trip. Then, I'll put it in the suitcase. If it's too heavy, out they come. I can't be lifting all this weight this time. My formal dress and jacket weigh a lot. Somebody suggested shipping it ahead to the hotel in Milan. That won't really help because I need to wear it in Vienna and Prague as well.
John McCain...we all know where I stand politically, but he was a true American. All the news about his life is such a reminder of the values we have all lived by, that have beene spoused by our president...until now. Such a sad contrast.
Cool weather to finish mowing this morning.
Good for Charlie.

I do the same thing before I take trips. I found a company that had travel clothes that all mix and match, are lightweight, crushproof, no iron so I bought several pieces. I kept them just for travel when we were traveling so much. I have been trying to remember where I got them so that I can get some more. When I Google the brand I don't get anything like it now. I can pack enough for 10 days in a carry on with two pairs of shoes and my CPAP and it's not very heavy. If I can find anything like it again I'll give you a head's up. |
So excited to you and your trip!

Great Saturday with the kids and grands. We've started our count-down of visits. |
Great dinner of home-made lasagna and antipasto salad. Impressed the kiddies! lol
This weather is perfect for me......very Fall-like
I've been feeling a little better lately....most mentally and physically. I know I NEED to get back to my daily walks.
Wish you would

send some of that perfect fall weather with you. We got a few days of more seasonal weather, but yesterday the heat index was back up to 104F. The forecast last night said that it looked like we would have heat indices well over 100 deep into September. Hottest summer on record here this year. We have had less than 14 days since the middle of may that came in under 100. Then again we had the longest spell of the coldest weather that we have had since the 1800s this past winter. Just weird. I think I'll just come spend some time with you. I'll be good outside the whole time. |
Used to love the hot weather, Delta...

But over the past 3-4 years I find temps in the 90's unbearable. My favorite is temps in the low 80's. I'd love that year-round. We are out doors most of the day whenever we can be.|
Haha me too
Posted by Delta on 8/27/2018, 9:59 pm, in reply to "Used to love the hot weather, Delta..."
My mom lives in the hills and 80s are nice there most of the time. Here it is so humid that 80 aren't so nice. For instance, today when I got up my daughter said it was 82 but the heat index was 100. Less than 30 minutes later it had gotten up to 83 with a heat index of 103. I went out about 10:30 to pick some peppers for dinner and it was already up to 93 but I was afraid to ask what the heat index was. Just picking a few peppers and my hair was dripping. Where you are sounds wonderful, in the summer at least. |
Glad to hear you're feeling better
