The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

1. For the life of my niece Sandi. She lived in Florida and was the youngest child of my sister Kaye who passed away a year ago. Sandi passed away last night at the age of 49. Still not sure what happened. Could have been a massive stroke. |
2. An extra day off. Nice to have a three day weekend.
3. Feeling a lot better. Not 100% yet, but 100% better than I was.
4. Sun is out after some rainfall overnight.
5. Family and friends.

Glad to have today and tomorrow off but it's making my depression worse, I think. I'm irritable and just feel so boxed in...this is an awful job but it is also an awful thought to have to interview with and make myself vulnerable to, my old supervisor. Choosing between bad and worse but I don't know which is which. I haven't felt truly depressed in quite awhile. I always get scared when I do for fear I will get totally immobilized like I have in the past. I always have an 'out', I mean a solution to a problem... and I don't see one yet. It would help if I could work in the yard but I have too much pain and it is so hot and humid that isn't an option. |
Less arm/shoulder pain today but the hip where I got the injection a few weeks ago is acting up. This getting old after having been obese my whole life is a b###h!
Slept well last night but had a strange dream in which I was talking to George W Bush about my loss of my faith. He was being very nice but I had somewhere I had to be.
Leave on my trip 5 weeks from today. Today that just feels exhausting
I am sorry to

hear your depression is coming back. I agree with Krista... wait until after your trip... it may be a new perspective. |
You always have some interesting dreams.
I'm sorry yo're feeling down, Paula...

Here's a big bear hug for ya!!!|
((( Paula )))

Sending you a huge hug. If the pay is going down AND you're working for the old boss, you know that's not the move for you. Why not wait until you get back from your amazing trip and maybe it will be clearer then?|
Posted by Cindy on 9/3/2018, 12:21 pm, in reply to "((( Paula )))"
I agree with Krista. You should just wait until you get back from your trip to make any major decisions. Some time away is bound to clear things up for you! For now, start thinking about all the great places you are going to get to see on your trip! 5 weeks will go by quickly. How long will you be gone? |

1) working at the radio station today - always love that |
2) picked up crutches, walker, toilet seat raiser today. My Dad / brother have the bath tub seat and will drop that off. All I need is a cane and I'm ready for post-op
3) a nurse will be calling tomorrow morning at 11 am for my "pre-op consult". Because I just had all the testing done for lapband removal, I don't need another chest xray, EKB and set of blood tests
4) Ray is off Thursday and Friday so he'll be able to be at the hospital with me - knee replacement scheduled for 10 am on Thursday
5) Ray is finishing my friend Amanda's deck(s) this morning. He should be done by noon and I'm off at 3 so we'll get to have some time together
HAPPY LABOUR DAY to all of you - and yes, we DO spell it with a "U" in Canada
sounds like you are really ready

You are about ready... it will be wonderful to ultimately be pain free in your know!!!!

Do they think you'll only be inpatient for one night? Will you have home rehab? Outpatient rehab?|
Probably 2 night from what I have heard
Posted by Krista on 9/3/2018, 10:27 am, in reply to "Great planning"
I'll get all the information when they call tomorrow. We wouldn't have home rehab (do you mean someone coming in?) unless that was covered by Blue Cross - I'm not planning on having anyone in. I'm asking if they have "free" physio at the hospital as my coverage is pretty well used up - maybe 2-3 appointments left? If not, I'll be going to physio myself probably 3X / week. Again, hope to have more answers tomorrow. Thanks for asking as it reminds me to ask them! |

You will need rehab. I had both done at once followed by 8 days inpatient rehab, 1 week home rehab and 4-5 weeks outpatient. I know the surgery and the actual knee implants are much more modern now. I think the new knees |
are more flexible so you won't have to work as hard to get your total bend back. And you aren't getting both of them done at the same time. This surgery changed the quality of life so much.
Rehab and physio are same aren't they?
Posted by Krista on 9/3/2018, 7:58 pm, in reply to "Re: Probably 2 night from what I have heard"
I think we're speaking the same terms. |
I'm glad your quality of life changed. Hoping mine will too! Just the left knee for me.
