The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

The gift of an extra day before Christmas. I thought yesterday was Friday all day long so I have an extra day. |
The boys went to their Dad's on Wednesday night to stay until Christmas Eve at bedtime so the house should stay clean. Just have to maintain the den, kitchen-dining area and mudroom, and give everything an extra dusting and vacuuming on Monday. Such a relief to not have tons of work ahead of me. You ladies just don't realize what a panic I was in when I realized that Christmas was a week away and I somehow thought it was still in the distant future. I hadn't even been home all last week and most of the week before so there was a lot of house cleaning that had just gotten a lick and a promise and I was sure that I hadn't even planned Christmas dinner, let alone shopped for it. Luckily the house wasn't as bad as I had thought.
Laundry is almost done. I usually do laundry on Mondays but started it this morning so I have Monday free and it doesn't pile up so badly.
Everybody voted on a simple Christmas dinner and requested either no dessert or a light one. I can do that.
My husband's new hearing aids. They have had bluetooth for some time but the newer ones are just so much more advanced than they were three years ago when he got his last ones. He can set so many things himself now by using his phone. With the others, he had to go in to get most things set for him there was very little that he could control. These have settings for different filters for things like ball games, theater, restaurants or using them like earphones with any Bluetooth device that he connects them with. They auto-adjust as he wears them. They only started off yesterday at 80% and he said he could still hear better than the others, they will adjust over time to 100% to give his ears time to adjust to hearing better. NICE! The part in his ear are also smaller so they are more comfortable so I am hoping he will wear them longer. The others bothered him so about 4-5 hours was all he could handle. They made his ears hurt and itch every time he wore them. Yesterday he wore the new ones for almost 10 hours and almost forgot to take them off when he went to bed. Technology can be wonderful.

it sounds like you've got this. |
The holidays can be a lot of work but for family
it is so worth it.
Glad to hear about your husbands new hearing aid. Like you say they have come a long way. I remember a friend wearing hers for the first time and saying she had to take them out because she could hear the refrigerator in the kitchen running... : )

Interview with hospice went well. Should hear something in a week or2 |
Bon Secour Hospital replied to my resume. It's a job I would like. They are typically noncompetitive with VCU's salary. This person said she did nt think my request was out of the question but she's also just the first point of contact.
Good chiropractor. My back is killing me today. I think it's a delayed reaction to all the shoveling.
Weekend is here. Don't have to be back until Wednesday

what you do as it seems to me when you want a change ..time ad time.. again you have no problem getting hired wherever it is you apply to. |

as it has been true that whenever I wanted to change jobs, I could get one. It's gotten to the point where explaining why I had something like 8 jobs when I lived in MD for 10 years became dicey!! Since I now have some longevity...5 years in private practice followed by 6 years at VCU...I'm legit again. |
I was talking to a young friend the other day about how different it is now that I'm older and, hopefully, no more than 3 years from retirement. I have to think hard about any changes because I don't have the emotional resiliency to keep doing this and it's harder for me to learn new processes and procedures. Partly that's because hearing loss (even with aids) impacts how well I get things. And maybe the biggest factor...I don't WANT to learn anything new when it comes to my career!!! I am so done!
Good vibes comin' attcha, Paula

chiropractor is able to give you some relief with your back. The job situation is sounding more and more hopeful. As I have said before I hope you get a job that you love so much that you won't want to retire until they run you out at 105 and that you can get a salary that you can live with (on).|

1. Today is my 61st birthday! The sun is shining and it looks to be a beautiful day! So grateful for the life God has given me, and hope to have many more years to come! |
2. Adam started his job yesterday. He is working at McDonalds and plans to go back to school next year!
3. Went to the dr yesterday for a 6 month check up and he told me that he is very proud of my weight loss! That really meant a lot to me! My numbers are all good and he thinks I am losing weight the correct way with Weight Watchers, AND that I donít look like I am in my 60ís!! Woohoo - that was worth the copay right there to hear! Lol
4. No plans for today. Just spending the day with my guy!
5. All of you ladies! I love you all so very much and am so blessed to have you in my life!
That nice compliment

appointment went so well and all that he said to you. Validation is so nice. |
I hope your day with your guy is wonderful!
I hope that Adam is able to carry through with his plans to go back to school. It has been a bit tougher on my son going back than it was for the first degree since there is more life going on but he thinks it is well worth it. My grandson got a job at McDonald's as a cook a couple of weeks ago because it is getting dark so early now that he is only getting about an hour after school in the Pro Shop before they close and Saturday. He didn't want to quit because he loves that job and it is good in the summer so he got a job at McDonald's because they would work around his other schedule. He said that he is really enjoying it so far. It's one of the few fast food places here that pays above minimum wages.

1) working at the radio today and tomorrow |
2) Cindy's Birthday is today! Happy Birthday to an amazing lady who I am honoured to have been friends with for so long!
3) good customer service - Pizza Delight sending me coupon in mail for a pizza. Hours were wrong on their website and window signage and the gift certificates were locked in a safe so they would have to take my name and number. I think not!
4) supposed to get a MAJOR RAIN storm this weekend (up to 50mm - 3.5 inches) Fine by me as I HATE SNOW!
5) only 3 more days that I have to play Christmas music on the radio - WOoOHoooo!1

I REALLY DO WANT that hippo for Christmas!! I'm still waiting......|
I don't remember ever hearing
Posted by Delta on 12/21/2018, 11:10 pm, in reply to "But--But--But, Krista"
that song until a few years ago when one of the grandkids had to sing it in a school play. He went around singing it for a month or more before the play. All of the grandkids learned it from him and would sing along. Then they heard it on the radio and pandemonium ensued. Every time I have heard it since then I just have to grin. Gotta love something that puts a grin on your face every time you hear it.|
My sister and I started singing that son
Posted by Sue on 12/22/2018, 11:15 am, in reply to "Lol...now I want to hear it!"
when we were young girls. It would crack us up! We still sing it...and giggle all the way through....Bill and the kids sometimes sing it with me.....they think it's a hoot! lol|
I have for years really enjoyed

Christmas music. |
Now that Rich has passed I can't listen to a lot of it.
DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY SAD CHRISTMAS SONGS THERE ARE ??
I DO...at least a million
Glad you will be put out of your misery soon.
I haven't heard

much Christmas music this year, except when I get the rare chance to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie. We were in Home Depot the other day and they were playing only Christmas music and it sounded like it was Christmas on Crack. It reminded me of when we used to play 45 RPM or better yet 33 1/3 RPM music on 78 RPM as kids. It was funny for a while and my husband and I couldn't stop laughing but I'll bet it was torture to the people working there. I thought of you sitting in the radio station having to play hours of that and figured it would be like being tied down and made to listen to fingernails on a chalkboard for hours. |

you enjoyed your time with Beth last night. I am so glad that you have her in your life. I am bereft of old friends that I was really close to as either I or all my closest friends have moved away and passed away. It seems strange not to have someone close by to share everything with. |
