The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"

- nice snow today. The kids are having so much fun. |
- neighbor, John, cleared our driveway today. Murray was at work. Love that kindness.
- Vera, 3 year old- family from the south, is having the time of her life. It's the first time she's seen snow.
- I am not fretting about the results of the MRI. It will be what it is. Worrying is a wasted emotion.. doesn't change anything. Probably a fat deposit.
- Rachel's elevator is working again.
- been cleaning out closets today
- nice memento's from Mom
- car is fixed

My Saturday Gratefuls
Posted by Delta on 1/12/2019, 2:48 pm, in reply to "Grateful's for Saturday."
I got to sleep in this morning. Didn't sleep well last night so I kept going back to sleep until I felt rested. |
My husband is still a bit weak but he seems to be well on his way back to full health.
We didn't get the snow that they did not far from us. We just got lots of rain, some sleet, and cold. Our rain should be out of here later today but that 12" of snow is going to be around for a while.
A nephew's son came home from college this weekend and got snowed in. The college doesn't want him to back until the roads are safe and will allow him to make up any work missed. It's nice to know that they value the student's safety.
Hot coffee. My head was clogged when I got up this morning. Lots of hot coffee makes it feel so much better. My water may suffer today but I should get plenty in hot decaf.

The weekend is here. I don't wake up with that sense of dread when it's the weekend |
Figured out a way to pay for a pair of hearing aids before I leave my job
Did you know that you can use up all of your Flexible Spending Acct/Health Reimbursement account even before the money is deducted from your check. Maybe my Canadian friends don't know about this employer plan. At work you can have a certain amount of pre-tax money taken out of your check each pay period. For instance, I have $50 taken out of the check. Throughout the year, I use this for medication co-pays, doctor co-pays, glasses, etc. That way I don't have to worry about budgeting for those kind of things. Well, even though I've only contributed so far for a couple of pay checks, the whole annual amount I would have contributed by year's end, is mine to spend the whole $1300.
Charlie and I took a much longer walk this morning...snow and ice coming overnight and tomorrow.
My mood seems better...took my meds all week AND the job is ending soon.
That's great on getting the

I have the same with my retirement except that I pay nothing at all I think it's something like $400 / year. I forgot about it one year and was able to get 2 years worth in the fall of 2017. Super to have that unexpected "bonus". |
Great to hear you have that Paula!

Paula is feeling better.....gettin' her groove back. YAY! |
Bill and I both are dealing with sinus problems....but, nothing serious.
Our kids and grands.....so grateful for them!
Food, drink and shelter.....having more than enough.
The missing 13-year old from Northern Michigan has been found alive. The story is all over the news.
Thank you, Jesus
Nothing that has to be done today.....think I'll color my hair and watch football. Looking forward to a lazy day.
This hot coffee is wonderful on my sore throat!!!

that money get put back in the flex acct if you are no longer at your job? Do you just have to be sure to continue putting it in to pay the acct back once you start your new job or what? I have never done the flex acct but it sounds interesting. |
Glad your meds are helping your mood!!
No, it's mine free and clear.

Employers deposit it at the beginning of the year. If a person doesn't spend it all by March of the following year (2020), they lose it. It's government regulated somehow with really strict guidelines. Funds have to be used for medical purposes. They balance out between people like me using it upfront and those who don't spend it by the deadline. I lost $80 one year because I forgot to spend it! Could have kicked myself! Also I am sure that a lot of people don't know you can spend it up front.|
