The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"
Saturday morning weigh in... UGH!
Posted by Cindy on 1/26/2019, 1:14 pm
UP 1.8 pounds this week! Another week for lessons. And maybe an eye opener for me. Pasta is not my friend. Even though I counted what I ate, I spent a lot of points on egg noodles and elbow macaroni in the form of beef and noodles and goulash. I just can’t have those types of things in the fridge. It is just too easy to heat leftovers up and eat them, rather than building my meal around protein which is much better for me. |
I also need to MOVE more. Still the thought of exercising is NOT my idea of a good time. Even committing to just 30 minutes a day is more than I want to do. Therefore, I have told myself that I need to find something that I WILL be able to commit to and just do it this week and see what happens.
Ken and I had a talk this morning and I told him for the next month we will not be having any pasta in this house. No noodles, no Mac and cheese, no goulash. NONE. And you know what he said to that? “No problem!” He wanted to know what else bothers me that we have in the house! Do I have a great guy or what? I am going to have to get more creative with our meals because I grew up in a family of 9 (7 kids and 2 parents) and my mom would use less protein by using noodles, macaroni, etc. to make that protein stretch! We had casseroles, and big batches of goulash, fried potatoes, all kinds of foods that are based around pasta and potatoes instead of protein just because it was cheaper. I have to change the way I cook for Ken!
As for moving more, I am going to commit to doing 10 minutes of something 3 times a day! Even if that means just getting up and walking. I know I can do that, and for February I am going to commit to that and see if I can knock 10 pounds off for the month. I am back up to 240 and I have spent way too much time in the 230’s. I want to move on into the 220’s. I know I can do this! I just have to get out of my own way!
I know you sweet girls are cheering me on! And I hope you know I am in your corner too! WE can do this!
Onward I march!!

All the comfort foods.... |
I'm glad your process all of this 'out loud.' It's a reminder of what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle...no piece of cake (pun intended). We're with you all the way down.
Paula... loved reading...

“We’re with you all the way down.” Thank you for that. It made me smile! I just get scared any time I see that number going up on the scale! I have worked too hard to be where I am and don’t want to find myself back up to 325 pounds! Thank you for your support! |
I have a friend who dances every day for 30 minutes.

my exercise every-other-day would be dancing to Richard Simmon's "Sweatin' to the Oldies"....(think that's right). It was so much fun...and a great workout. On the other days, I would walk 3-4 miles. Worked well for me. PS....I still love to dance. Abba has some great songs to dance to.|

I have that Richard Simmons DVD and used to do it all the time! Thanks for that suggestion-I will have to get Richard fired up once again! |

So many people, myself included, would just get so discouraged and discouragement tends to set people back. You, instead of getting discouraged have been getting inspired to find the problem and solve it. You are trying to find a way to live the rest of your life without gaining back the weight you are losing instead of waiting until this phase is over to go back to what you used to do. It may not be the fastest road to losing a lot of weight but it is the best way to living healthier You rock!|
Thank you Delta...

My first set of 10 minutes of moving by doing my favorite Zumba routine twice! Totaling 10 minutes! |
I love the song “I’ve Got A Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas” and there is a You Tube video by this girl named Vijaya which is just a warm up song, but believe me it’s a workout for me!
So 1 out of 3 MOVE sessions DONE!
