The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"
Saturday morning weigh in...

So frustrated this morning. The scales showed a 1.4 pound GAIN! Girls, this is the 3rd week in a row that I have had a gain!!! I thought sure increasing the amount of movement I was getting this week would help, and I know it could take more than a week of doing a little extra to make that scale start moving downward, but I didnít expect it to go up! UGH. |
I know I got this, and I am going to stick with it, as I KNOW this is a journey that I need to be on to find a healthier life, but some bumps in the road really stink!
I came home from my meeting and went over my food to try to figure out what I am doing to cause a gain. I had blue dot days all but one day. I have been building my meals around zero point foods and eating more clementines. The only major change that I can think that might make a difference is that I have switched over to using Atkins Advantage shakes to use as my creamer and have been drinking more coffee since I picked up that yummy Cinnabon cinnamon roll k-cup coffee, so maybe that is playing into it. The whole bottle is 4 points instead of the 2 points the premier protein shake was, (they are changing the formula on the premier protein so I canít find my caramel one that I love!) so maybe that has something to do with it? I donít count my creamer because I always have weekly points left over - but I guess I need to count it and see how it plays out. I was down about half a bottle of my shake this morning and put some water in it to dilute it. This shake on its own is pretty thick so watering it down doesnít hurt one bit.
Iíll figure it out. Iím not giving up, and to be honest in the past that is exactly what I would do. I would QUIT! I mean seriously, if I am saying no to all these scrumptious things that I love just to see the number on the scale go up- why do it? But I know I am worth the effort it takes to get this weight off and I will continue on this journey. I have grown in so many ways, and know that this will pay off! I can do this.
If you are still reading all my ramblings, thank you! I know I can figure this out!
Onward I march!
Get lots and lots of support !

Cindy can you talk to a leader there to get some help? Might be some small tweak that you don't even realize. You are doing great with the exercise! Proud of you!|

My meals and seeing what I am doing differently. My best friend Kim has been a lifetime member for 20 years as well as a substitute leader and she has been going over my meals too. It has to be something Iím eating. |

Wow, that must feel like a slap in the face. I'm sorry. Have you checked that the new coffee doesn't have sugar in it? Some of them do. I also wonder if you are getting a bit of good fat during the day (about 2 teaspoons of oil) and if you are getting some carbs, we need a couple servings of bread/potatoes/pasta/rice/whole grains when we are getting very low fat to help keep our brains functioning so our body will do whatever it can to help with the situation. Then again if you have upped the Clementines that may be taking care of the situation or it may be raising your blood sugar just enough that it goes into storage mode. I am certainly left scratching my head and like you said you used to do I would be ready to stop depriving myself only to gain but there is something in there that you are doing differently. Can you go back to an earlier time when you were losing well and use the menus there for a couple weeks to see what happens? Don't forget to adjust the points if you are lower now. Sometimes we get sloppy with our counting, or at least I do, or we start getting more processed foods because we are in a rush or something along those lines. Too bad we can't hire Sherlock Holmes to help us out with these things. I am sure that you will soon be a loser again. Wait, that doesn't sound right. I am sure you will start losing weight again. |

I checked the coffee when I bought it to make sure it wasnít one of those with added calories! I really wonder if it isnít the slim fast shakes that I am using for creamer. I bought some vanilla Premier protein shakes today and will switch back to that. Also just making sure I am weighing and measuring my food. Thanks for all the great ideas as to what is behind this. I think I will go back and look at my past menus when I was losing well and see what I was eating!|
