The easiest way to avoid regrets is to ask yourself this question, "If not now, when?" It's a powerful way to put life and our decisions about how we spend our time into perspective"
Question for those of you with a male dog

Is it a common thing for house-broken males to suddenly start marking in the house and pooping in the floor after being outside? EVERY TIME.
My mom's dog was house-broken when he came here and was good about barking to go out. Poppy uses a bell so he picked that up instead of barking, I liked the barking better because I could hear it all over the house, the bell I have to be in a room close to. He would also come jump up in my lap if I was sitting down, look deep into my eyes and take off for the door to ring the bell. For the last couple of weeks he still asks to go out the same as always but he has been coming in and peeing on everything close to the ground. I had a pair of pants hanging on the clothes rack to dry and he even sprinkled it so that I had to treat them with enzymes and wash them again. He also comes in and poops in one of the hallways or in Mama's bathroom floor. He has been here since September and has been so good so I am wondering if males do this when they are sick! Do any of you have any other ideas? Have we traumatized him? I haven't had a dog since I was 2 years old and don't remember him.
I agree time for a trip. May did have trouble somewhat similar abs had to be fixed years ago because he was having trouble peeing due to a swollen prostrate and he was trying to pee every where then.
This dog was from a one dog house and sometimes he does weird things out of the blue for attention since he is around Poppy now so I was wondering.
Mama still wants to go home by the end of the month. That was her goal in PT but PT ended and she is still not ready in anyone's mind but her own. Since her PT ended she has been doing a lot of sitting which is making her weaker, quickly. I try to get her to do things with me but I was waylaid with that pinched nerve for 4 weeks and her PT ended 2 weeks ago so by now she has a hard time doing much for herself. She might be able to fix one meal or snack or do a load of clothes but not both and some days she can't even get up and let her dog out every time he wants to go and I will have to do it. She has also said that she doesn't want any more of the Meals on Wheels because she doesn't like what they bring which means that she will have to make three meals a day for herself, find someone to take her to shop and get the shopping done.
I just don't see it happening anytime soon, if ever. She has always wanted to be in control so this is chaffing on her pretty badly and makes her get manipulative and hateful so believe me we would be taking her quickly if we thought that she could make it on her own so that in itself ought to speak loudly to the mattter.
It was easier when her pipe was broken because she couldn't be there without water and my son and nephew have been slowing the process down as much as they could while she hounds the plumber constantly. It did get fixed yesterday which made things so much harder now.
I don't blame her, there is nowhere like home and she thinks that she has a support unit there like she had before so she thinks she can make it fine. Unfortunately, things are not like they were before. Her best friend had surgery on her foot then broke her other leg so she is not driving and has to have some help herself, one cousin that was helping her before just had surgery and when she recovers they are doing another one so she will be out for a few months. The other cousin is taking care of her dad almost 24/7 because he has taken a turn for the worse and she fell recently and messed her hip up so she is having a really hard time. The neighbor that helps her some takes in foster children with special needs or in special circumstances. She just got 7 siblings, most of which are under school age so she won't be available but it is hard to get Mama to see that she will be going back to a different environment entirely. In the meantime, I may lose my mind.
Good Grief!

I'm sorry she's being so cranky. Sounds like a real double bind. Can't really go home but wearing out her welcome. I know you'll do all you can but we all have limits!
But only one started peeing in the house and he was an older dog. I’m not sure what to tell you. I’d check with his veterinarian. He could have a UTI or something. I wish I could give you an answer.
This dog isn't quite 3 yet. Other than that he hasn't been acting sick so I just wondered. Today he is wanting to stay in his cage so I guess he is getting sick and I need to get him to the vet.
