Since the table is new, the finish is almost certainly lacquer. Sometimes these finishes have a tint added to them which, when scratched, will appear to be light colored lines. If they are not all the way through the finish, then Wood Elixir will go a long way toward reducing these. If they are all the way through the finish, then you can touch up the color with lacquer markers of the matching color. Also you could sand it lightly to smooth the surface and spray a new finish on it with aerosol lacquer.
