I have a cherry dining room set. Through several moves, two of my table legs have become loose. They are attached to the table with two wood screws through the table into the leg. The holes in the legs have wallowed out. I think the solution is to glue a dowel into the holes in the legs for the screws to bite into, but do I need to use a hardwood dowel? I have tried a pine dowel and it did not hold.
