Yes, I'd love to have more info! I'm at a complete loss of how to reduce/eliminate the strong reds. I was thinking it was a dark mahogany stain or something similar that had soaked into the grain. I attempted to purchase the two part bleaching process (does that contain lye?) at the local home store but they informed me they cannot sell it any longer. I have a total of three chairs (the fourth chair is not red at all) although one is considerably less red. Any help of steps to take would be greatly appreciated! --Previous Message-- : It sounds like they are very old and the red : stain might be either milk paint or berry : stain, both of which are very difficult to : remove, especially on oak.
