Posted by Mike on January 15, 2004, 10:37 pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * This page is meant for people looking for specific episodes of game shows, game show music, props, photos, anything game show related. Selling anything on this board will not be condoned. The emphasis is on trading. If you post a "will pay cash for videos" message on the board, you will be banned without hesitation. Cash for videos will not be tolerated. * This list is for game show trading only. If you have other shows you want to trade, post your messages on a board about trading items from that genre. * Vulgarities, flame wars, off-topic posts and other posts I feel are unnecessary is unacceptable and will be deleted. (I feel the Voisine incidents are justified since he needs to learn that the good traders shouldn't be given the runaround by a habitual liar.) * I am not responsible for any bad transactions. This board is meant to act as a 3rd party for traders and people looking for television shows or memorabilia. If you wish to trade with someone, contact that person directly, not me. I will not forward your message to a specific trader. Do not post to the board that you are interested in trading with someone. That's why an e-mail address is mandatory with each post. * On that note, all communication with traders should be done via e-mail. Please don't post any addendums, trade cancellations or requests for traders to contact you. Once a possible trade begins, keep any trade related messages between you and the other trader. This includes posts which say "I have that show." Tell the individual requesting the show you have it via e-mail. Odds are that the original poster doesn't read the message board on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis. * Do not post full collection lists. Please list links to your collection's page or to a downloadable document with your trade list. * All posts must contain a name (first name, a nickname or initials will suffice) and a valid e-mail address. Any post not containing either of these will be removed. Also, for best results, make the subject line of your post the name of the show you're looking for plus any other relevant information like an airdate, even if it's just the year it aired. * Don't spam the board. Spammers will be banned without warning. This is not the place to advertise your site, a forum, etc. This includes posting links to non-game show collection sites, especially pornographic or adult web sites. Post a link to a porn or adult site and you're automatically banned, no questions asked. * Similarly, if someone spams the board or trolls this board, DO NOT REPLY TO THEM. Simply ignore the offending message(s). I check this board at least three times a week. Thus, any offending messages will be gone within 48 hours. There is no penalty for initially responding to trolls or spammers. However, if someone continually responds to such off-topic posts, actions may be taken. * Do not bump threads, as bumping will not move your message to the top of the page. Do not repost a single request more than once per 3 months. Please consolidate all requests in one post, i.e. do not ask for one show and then make a separate request a few days later. The board has the ability to show only the last 300 posts. Over the last month, this has trimmed the archive of posts from 11 months to approximately 8 months. Frequent reposting is unnecessary and is cause for being banned. * If you post a reply without adding a message i.e. your reply is just quoted text, your message will be deleted and you will be banned. * I reserve the right to delete any message for any reason. I also reserve the right to ban any poster for any reason, so please act mature when you post. 99% of people don't have to worry about being banned. It's the other 1% I'm worried about. * If you are looking for a specific show, it's best to have as much information about that show including air date, tape date, celebrity panelists, the version of the show (nighttime, daytime, primetime, network, syndicated, etc.) and the name of the contestant(s) on the show. * A majority of shows from the 1940s through the late 1970s have been destroyed. It definitely doesn't hurt to ask whether anybody has episodes from those shows. A lady e-mailed me about her episodes of The Joker's Wild from 1973. At the time, I told her they were destroyed. Lo and behold, Game Show Network unearthed these long lost gems. The lady's show aired in April 2001 and I sent her a copy of them in June 2001. * Other than spammers and "will pay for cash" posts, any flagrant violation of any rule listed here or on the message board will get you a warning, via e-mail or on the board, most likely the former. A second violation equals being banned from this board. * Do not contact me (Mike) directly about acquiring any tapes. For all intents and purposes, I'm retired from tape trading. You're more likely to get a response and even possibly finding what you're looking for by posting a message here. * I am not responsible for any ads you may see here. Pop-up ads may appear from time to time. That's a downside for having a free message board. In short, be respectful of others who use this board and the board's capabilities. While I want traders' collections to grow, I also want a contestant who was on a game show 35 years ago to show his/her family and friends their moment in the sun. In addition, by all means, HAVE FUN. Everybody who posts to this board has an obvious connection--a love of game shows. Let's not ruin the fun over petty arguments or not thinking before hitting the POST button.
