Elizardbeth
GIS #1753
Lake Forest, CA
Looking for a new home since 6-6-07. Elizardbeth is still available as of May 6, 2008!
Iguana name: Elizardbeth
Iguana age: Around 15 years old
SVL: 16"
STL: 42"
Gender: Female
Reason for new needing a new home: My son is at college and can not have her there. I work and we would like to see her with someone who will be able spend more time with her.
Vet care and health history: No known health problems. Very healthy. About a foot of her tail was broken off before we aquired her and it has never grown back.
Diet: All types of greens (mustard, collard, spinach etc.), sweet potatoes, green beans, brocolli, okra, yucca, squash, carrots, celery, bell peppers, mango, strawberries, apples, wheat bread, iguana chow. Loves wheat bread!!!!
Habitat and living conditions: She is not enclosed at night. She sleeps and suns on a cat tree near a window. During the day, when it is sunny, she has a wire cage out in the backyard. I put heat and UV lamps on her in both locations.
Temperament: Elizardbeth is pretty mild mannered. She is docile around my son and others that know how to handle iguanas. She was with my son's father for about a year and a half and was not handled much, so she has since has become a bit more tempramental.
Handling: She is handled a bit every day - when transporting her to and from her cage in the yard. However, I do use a towel to pick her up as her toenails are very sharp, even when clipped. Her favorite treat is wheat bread and she will eat it right out of your hand.
House broken: Yes
House breaking details: She uses the water box in her cage outside.
Included with iguana: Outdoor wire cage, heat and UV lamps, food dish, water box, cat tree, harness and leash.
Willing to ship iguana: no
Other information: We are looking for a new home for Elizardbeth because we think that she would be happier being handled more and with more human interaction. She is an old friend and we am not desperate to give her away. She is used to being around dogs and in the past has been to visit schools and church petting zoos.
