Iguana name: Lola Bean
GIS# 1791
Parlin, NJ
Looking for a new home since 7/30/07. Lola is still available as of May 2008!
Iguana age: 3
SVL: 11in
STL: 36 in
Gender: Male
Reason for new needing a new home: I'm going off to college soon. I got him two and a half years ago thinking i could take him with me, come to find out only if he stays in his cage and i cant do that to him. He has a cage in my room but i let him free roam now and he loves it, cant take that away from him. My mom cant take care of him cause she works too much - Please help!
Vet care and health history: No Health Problems. Took him to a family friend (is a vet) and he is very healthy.
Diet: Daily eats Zoo Med's Adult Iguana food (pellets), but every other day i feed him watercress with strawberries, apples, carrots and pears. His favorites out of all the fruits and veggys i've tried to feed him.
Habitat and living conditions: He lives in a 20 gallon long tank, not big but he just sleeps there at night. Otherwise he lives in my room, basks on my window sill in the day or on top of his cage. I also put towels down around his cage he likes to sleep there sometimes too. His cage is on top of my dresser he can climb up and down in and out by himself. I give him a bath everyday (sometimes every other day). He is potty trained as well.
Temperament: He is very calm, never bit anyone at all. Never whips - only once the first day i got him after that he never did it again (thanks to this websites information of not pulling away and all). When friends are over he usually walks right up to them but if you try and follow him he gets scared and runs.
Handling: Everyday. i carry him to the bathroom and back, i also like to take him outside to give him something to do (even though he hates the birds). Everyone that visits likes to come in and pet him, he loves it though, he will sit there for a long time as long as he is getting rubbed near his ears (i thought this was weird, but its cute when he licks you afterwords)
House broken: Yes
House breaking details: goes in the tub, but im trying to get him to use a waterbox when im not home.
