Dezzy
GIS# 1839
Looking for a home since 9/17/07. Dezzy is still available as of May 2008!
Iguana age: 8 years old/purchased in 2000
Gender: Male
Reason for new needing a new home: I'm having a baby and think that Dezzy should go to a home where he'll be the center of attention again. He doesn't stay in his cage well which I never minded before, but am concerned about with the baby coming.
Vet care and health history: Dezzy is in perfect health as far as I know.
Diet: Mixed diet of fruit and vegetable. Usually he is fed whatever different veggies and fruits are in the fridge, but I usually purchase some kind of leafy green just for him, such as mustard greens, kayle, collard greens or the like.
Habitat and living conditions: The iguana has a cage that is about 7' tall, 4' wide and 3' deep. It is wooden on the 3 sides and the front is screened in and the whole front of it opens with 2 doors. He has been in this cage since he was a baby and has mastered most ways to break it. Lately he spends most of his time on top of the cage, coming down to eat and use the restroom.
Temperament: Fairly calm, but I guess kind of opinionated. Sometimes he walks over and sits on my lap for hours and other times doesn't want to be picked up. He is very very tame if he is sprayed with a water bottle. He just stops whatever he's doing to get sprayed a loves it. He's very malleable in this stage. He has never bitten or tail whipped. He does squirm though and obviously has sharp claws that scratch.
Handling: Not every day, but he's used to people.
House broken: No
House breaking details: He will go in one place for awhile, like a tub of water or a certain place in his cage, then he gets tired of that and moves onto someplace unexpected. He unfortunately likes to climb on my bed and go.
Anything included with iguana: yes
Included with iguana: His cage, which is fully stocked with very nice tree limbs.
Willing to ship iguana: no
Other information: The iguana has no fear of other animals. I have a large dog, a boxer/bullmastiff and they hang out together. Dezzy walks up to him and rubs against his face, to scratch himself. This could be a bad thing if there was an animal that didn't like Dezzy. I don't think he has any instinct of fear.
