GIS# 1833 Looking for a home since 9/20/07 Iguana name: Pepito Iguana age: 2 years old Gender: Male Reason for new needing a new home: I moved into a new apartment complex, and I am not allowed to have reptiles as pets. Vet care and health history: none/no known health problems (I've owned him for two years.) Diet: greens, iguana food, carrots, green beans, apples, zucchini, squash, cucumber, and other fresh veggies (no crickets, etc.) Habitat and living conditions: I don't know the size of the aquarium he's in because I bought it second-hand. It's probably about 25 or 30 gallons, though. I use newspaper to line the bottom of the aquarium. He has some branches to climb on as well as some fake greenery. He also has a food dish and a water dish. The aquarium is cleaned regularly as are his food and water dishes. He's misted a few times a day. Temperament: Pepito is calm, but can become aggressive when approached (normal stuff like tail thrashing). In two years, he's never bitten anyone, though. Handling: He's handled on occassion - when his aquarium is cleaned, mainly. I've tried taming him, but failed. I don't think this is because of the iguana, though. I have always had so much going on that I never was able to devote several weeks to the process. House broken: No House breaking details: For the most part, Pepito likes to use his water dish as a toilet area. Anything included with iguana: yes Included with iguana: Aquarium and all of its contents - branches, water and food dishes as well as lamp and reptile day and night lights and his water bottle. Willing to ship iguana: no Other information: I really just want to see Pepito go to a GOOD home. He's become a member of the family, and I hate having to part with him. I would prefer that whoever adopts him has other iguanas or has cared for them in the past because these animals are not normal pets.
