Rex GIS# 1877 Whitestone NY Looking for a home since 1/27/08 Iguana age: 8 yrs Gender: Male Reason for new needing a new home:" Rex has become incressingly aggressive to the point where I cannot take him out for exercise and i am having trouble even feeding him lately he snaps at me whenever I go near him. I think he needs to be with someone who is experienced with large male iguanas. Dont get me wrong I love him and he has been a great pet I just cant handle him anymore." Vet care and health history: "He had Kidney problems that were addressed and he has been nursed back to health although he will always have a kidney condition he has not shown any signs of illness in the past year or so" Diet:" when young he was fed dry cat food which was wrong and caused the kidney problems. His diet has always been greens ( escrole romain green beans) yellow squash, strawberries, grapes, apple ect. The only time he got cat food was when he was free roaming and helped him self! he has not had a ounce of meat of anykind in the past 6 years." Habitat and living conditions:" large tank. also a large cage that i would alternante him to and from but it was tough to keep heated." Temperament: "He has just become aggressive but I know with the right person who has experience with large male iguanas he can be brought back to his old self which was very calm." Handling: "in the past 4 months he has only been out of his tank once because he tries to bite me. before that it was 2-5 times a week he would roam the house and take baths." House broken: Yes House breaking details:" He has a water box in his cage. When out he goes in the tub" Anything included with iguana: yes Included with iguana: heat lamp, light fixture, megaray bulb, dishes, water box. Willing to ship iguana: no Other information:" Rex needs someone who is able to provide a better living space, has experience with aggressive male behavior, he does have kidney problems that have been addressed. all vet information will be given to the new owner.
