Looking for a new home since 4-28-08
Iguana name: Gonzo
Iguana age: 10
Gender: Unknown
Reason for new needing a new home: I will be joining the military and shipping out to sea for weeks, maybe months at a time. I could not believe it, but they would not let me bring her!
Vet care and health history: She has no known health problems. I've only had to take her to the vet a couple of times and she came through really quick and easy. One of those visits was just a check up
Diet: Mostly greens mixed with veggies and some fruits. She absolutly loves bananas and stawberries. On the holidays I'd feed her a small portion of turkey and dressing.
Habitat and living conditions: I do not cage her. She is pretty much free to rome my apartment. She usually stays in my walk-in closet, on the shelf with a heating pad and her favorate cloth. When she's hungry and I don't get to her fast enough, she will climb down and walk straight to the fridge and wait on me. If I still do not get there quick enough, she will come find me and look at me, then go back to the fridge. When I go to work, I just simply close my bedroom door, it's safe for her. That way she can bask in the sunlight from my window. I also have a basking light in the closet which she usually hangs out under.
Temperament: She's a very relaxed iguana with a great personality. She is good with meeting new people. She doesnt mind being by herself, but will occasionally come to the livingroom to see who's there and what's going on. I like to take her to the beach to get natural sunlight and she loves it! She also likes music! She loves to see what's going on. She also loves to be next to fish aquariums with the running water sound
Handling: I've been her only owner, and I've had the treat of her companionship for 10 years. My mom and I have hand fed her the whole time, and I handle her daily. I just about constantly pet and groom her. I'll take her for rides in the car(to go to the beach). When hurricane Rita hit, I brought her with me when we ran from the coast.
House broken: Yes
House breaking details: She goes in the tub for easy clean-up. If I do not get to her first, she will climb down and walk to the tub. Only if I cannot get the water running fast enough, she will go on the floor. She does give me fair warning.
Anything included with iguana: yes
Included with iguana: I will give her with the heating pad and her favorate material so she will feel secure and as comfortable as possible. I will also include the vitamin supplement I've been using
Willing to ship iguana: no
