I started to get break through acid and doctor wanted to test for hplori so had to come off them for ten days in order to do an accurate test which turned out to be negative. The acid was no worse in them ten days than when I was taking Omeprazole so doctor said no point taking them so I haven't taken anymore. With all the bad press ppi's have been getting lately I was happy to do so as I am anemic and also have osteopenia and apparently these tablets don't help either. The acid wasn't too bad at first but it's slowly got worse to the point the tummy pain can double me over. Ranitidine and gaviscon advance do help and I don't need it everyday. I've looked online on some forums and some people have said it took them 1 1/2 years 😟 I am avoiding the common triggers like tomatoes and coffee etc but some days I feel plain water hurts. Today is a good day up too now but it can all change in an instant.
