Thank you for the replies everyone and sorry to hear that I'm not the only one who has suffered with something like this recently. I think that I am starting to get back to something more like normal. I'm still very tired though (although violent thunder storms in the middle of the night didn't help that!)
Fortunately I can work from home so can ease back into things reasonably gently. These nasty bugs really do knock you sideways don't they!
I don't know for certain that it was norovirus, but I know that it was definitely a bug (and not food poisoning or gluten) as my husband suffered the same about 36 hours after me. I hear that the most common kind of bug/stomach virus in adults is norovirus so I just assume that it's that. If not, something very similar anyway.
I never remember hearing norovirus mentioned years ago, just 24 hour or 48 hour "bugs". Is norovirus a relatively recent type of bug or just recently named I wonder...?!
