Every day there are more posts on here about CCGs who have already stopped prescriptions, and we all know very well that the cost of GF food varies between 3-8 times the cost of gluten-containing food gram-for-gram.
One of the (many) problems with the consultation that's still ongoing on GF food, is that it was based on flawed information about the cost of GF staples - it was grossly inaccurate and seriously misrepresented the price and availability of GF food.
Sheona has decided to so something about this, and has prepared a small spreadsheet to accurately compare the cost of a range of GF items with normal food.
She needs people to take it to their normal supermarket or convenience store - the place they go shopping - and fill in the details and send it back to her.
Once the data has been sent away for analysis, it will be available for our use in social media, letters to MPs, CCGs. GPs etc. We can use it to correct the inaccurate information in the press about GF food.
If you can help - please email Sheona. Here's her address (you'll have to remove the spaces and put in your own @ symbol!) s h e o n a at d r o s s a.co.uk
I'm helping out too with the shops near me, but I don't like anywhere near an Aldi and Lidl and the greater the range of supermarkets and areas the better!
