Re: Asymptomatic Coeliac

The only difference I noticed after diagnosis and starting the gf diet was that I no longer suffered from nausea. The gastroenterologist told me that asymptomatic coeliacs often asked him why they should avoid gluten when they didn't feel any symptoms. He stressed the risks of not following the gf regime such as osteoporosis and bowel cancer.
For that reason I have remained strictly gluten free. However, I have sometimes wondered if I should test to see if I now have a stronger reaction to gluten by eating a doughnut or chocolate eclair!
