It is a difficult situation, I know I have continued to get my bread but I have felt a bit guilty when I have collected it sometimes especially when the newspapers targeted coeliacs and lied about the food we could get. It did make me feel like a scrounger at times, although I do pay for my prescriptions it is much cheaper than buying the same Glutafin loaves in the supermarket
I would be happy if they were taking the prescriptions away but providing something else, however this isn't happening as far as i can see. I have an awful feeling that the prescriptions will be removed and nothing will be done to help us and we will be overcharged by the supermarkets as we are now, they are by nature altruistic so will not be bothered that people who have no choice but to buy the gf goods are paying over the odds.
I am not so sure that our NHS is the best now, I read yesterday that GP's will be unable to refer patients for things such as knee ops without having their referrals looked at to see if the operations were justified. I think it is going down hill fast, whether it will still be here in 20 years i dont know which is a really shame.
If it had been run better and treated like a proper business where the prices of goods were negotiated, fat cats hadn't paid themselves huge salaries and staffing procedures were well run so that they weren't having to pay huge amounts to agency staff because the regulars weren't available, then it would be in a better place now and maybe we wouldn't be in this mess now.
Anyway I hope CUK have a plan when the prescription are taken away.
