After the second scan a few weeks ago they said I had osteopenia. I was surprised as Iíve been really strict with the diet. Then I remembered that nearly two years ago I was told I was taking too high a dose of Levothyroxine and it had to be reduced from 100mcg a day to 75mcg as taking too much can cause problems with the bones. I phoned the GP after the osteopenia diagnosis to make sure I was still on the correct dosage. It appears that I was taking too high a dose for about 18 months which is strange considering I have a blood test every 12 months. It looks as though the result wasnít checked properly so Iím a bit annoyed about it.
Iíve been taking vit D and magnesium for a while now and Iím wondering if I should start taking calcium, although my calcium levels have been fine at the annual coeliac reviews.
