No, if you have coeliac disease, and have had endoscopy proving that the villi are flattened and damaged in the small intestine, and your blood tests also confirm you are anaemic and have antibodies to gluten .I wish it were not so, but if you have this illness, you will be ill every time you accidentally are fed gluten ......no, rye, wheat, or oats, which means reading all labels and not allowing others to give you any gluten in your meals and that includes gravy too. Some people think it is a fad diet but it is not and i was told i will get cancer of my bowels if i do not refrain from eating wheat, and gluten containing foods, if i accidentally am fed it, then I am ill with the runs ,for about 2 days, and in a load of colic pains too, so its best to settle down and avoid doing it at all costs... saying no to gluten means... being very careful indeed as many people try to get us to have a bit .... and are ignorant of how bad feeding us gluten really is for us.If i did not have this, diagnosed by endoscopy, and confirmed and did not get the runs I would never do this diet out of some silly self choice.... it is only done by myself as I do have coeliac disease confirmed by the hospital, and have been doing this diet for 20 years..... since being diagnosed ...I used to get dreadful mouth ulcers and be very anaemic indeed... but now the diet has cured that.. so it is a help to staying well and most coeliacs accept the diet out of necessity and not wishing to feel ill and weak, ever again, needlessly... as the diet helps us to all feel better at least to some degree anyway.Hope this helps you to know if you need to do the diet or not but only a doctor can send you for tests to see if this will help you or not ,no one should be doing this diet, unless they are a diagnosed coeliac... as an ordinary diet is more nutricious.... for people.... who are not diagnosed coeliacs as normally the nutrient in grains are good for people who are not coeliacs.
