Pillars of Hercules Falkland Fife

This very quirky organic, veggie cafe is set a stroll or a short drive away from Falkland palace and town in Fife. Itís a wooden structure with outside and inside seating, set amid trees and close to countryside. The whole place is very quaint indeed and quite unique in the area. Anyway that apart, there are lost of GF options with the entire menu back page listing GF options. They seem pretty well clued up on handling GF. I had a veggie chilli but when someone else had the garlic mushrooms on toast the smell was so lovely I plan to return for this option. They offer the following GF:-
Veggie Breakfast with poached eggs, fried mushrooms, tomato and baked beans served with wheat free bread and butter.
Poached Eggs and wheat free toast
Buckwheat crepe du jour check for GF fillings
Pillars bean burger in a wheat free focaccia with home made chutney and side salads.
Chilli nachos, veg and bean chilli with GF corn chips and cheese.
GF ploughmanís lunch
Garlic mushrooms on wheat free toast
Soup of the day
Wheat free toastie sandwich and salad, choice of GF fillings
Plus side salad
Soup and toaster/sandwich meal
Houmous and GF corn chips.
I have typed up the GF menu as it doesnít all feature on the online menu. All the GF options are listed on the cafe menu back page. Well worth a visit for a unique experience. You can also get other GF options at the Covenanter Hotel and Campbells cafe in the town itself.
