Re: GF bread availability
This calls into question the failure to consider the impact of the cessation of GF prescriptions in many areas of England. I do wonder if this should have been included in an equality impact assessment for coeliacs affected by the decisions made by Clinical Commissioning groups. As prescriptions stop more people will be trying to locate GF bread in shops but the shops stock systems won’t show an increased demand as the potential buyers just leave to look elsewhere. That means that they may not increase stock and that many will struggle to get supplies. I do wonder if a legal challenge could be initiated on these grounds. CCGS justified their decisions based on the ready availability of GF products in shops and supermarkets but their decisions will be adversely affecting this and some will go without which does not bode well for dietary compliance. Just my take on this.
