Re: blood test tomorrow
I had the blood test to rule out CD so I could carry on happily knowing I hadnít passed anything on to my children. I was not expecting a positive result. I didnít have obvious symptoms but never felt as though I was 100% and often felt like one cold just rolled into the next. By the time I had the biopsy I had got used to the idea and couldnít wait to go gluten free. The gastroenterologist told me at the time that it looked like cd as there were such large smooth patches so I started weeding things out of my diet before the official result.
The advantage of the diagnosis are the follow ups with your GP, a dietitian, a Dexa scan and vaccinations for flu, meningitis and pneumonia as people with CD are often hyper splenic.
You might be able to get a quicker appointment if you phone the gastro department for a cancellation.
