Not a good start to the Christmas period

For my birthday on the 15th Dec. my two sons bought me a ticket to see Jules Holland at Motor Point Arena Cardiff, number two son went with me as my wife wasn't too fussed. Had a quick tour of the city centre (brilliant if you have never been) had a cuppa in John Lewis (no alcohol) and got to the arena about half an hour before the start, sat there about ten minutes and I said to my son I felt a bit dizzy. Next thing I knew was staring up at faces and vaguely remember a voice saying call an ambulance. Staff at the arena took me into the medical room where I thanked them with a severe bout of vomiting and diarrhoea. Taken into Cardiff A&E and kept in overnight. Only explanation was a bug of some sort. I have had this before but fainting after the sickness bout due to dehydration, not before. Anyone else had this where they passed out first?
Did not get to see Jules after all, I feel more badly though about the fact that it was a birthday present. I must say that the staff at the Arena were brilliant as where the ambulance paramedics and nurses that had to clean me up and the doctors, also the lovely dinner lady that remembered I was a coeliac from breakfast and bought me an 'allergy free' cooked lunch (sort of pre-prepared aircraft style) Also the doctor who was sitting a couple of seats away I understand. I was fine a couple of days later but left me feeling a bit vulnerable for want of a better description, you suddenly realise you are not indestructible.
