I can't wait my friend. But I must warn you, the rumour goes, that every fourth person here in Denmark who are into genealogy, will at some point find himself related to this particular King Christian, I think he had something like 60 mistresses around the country, from peasants daughters to the high nobility. Amazingly he also found time time to bring the country to the brink of destruction through a never failing ability to always choose the wrong side in the wars and skirmishes going on in Europe in the 1700 century. He also built some very beautiful buildings, which are still standing. Mainly towers (figures) but also a lot of, for that time, very good houses, for his favourite part of the ctizens, the people from the navy. These small houses are still standing too, and have become THE place to live for the young and the rich. Actually the song I was referring to in the previous post isn't the national anthem. Not anymore, it was, but when the orchestra started playing the ' King Christian' song at national soccer games, the crowd always started singing another one called ' There is a beautiful country' written by H.C. Andersen, and it 'is' a much better song. In the end the Authorities had to give up, and make the 'King Christian' song the 'royal' song, which is played (and somewhat sung) at events where the royal family is present. Not at national soccer games though, even if the entire royal family is present, the crowd still sings 'There is a beautiful country'Tass --Previous Message-- : . . . descended from King Christian.
