    Jokes aside, you have been extremely lucky to survive. And you have been attacked before, i think you have done everything anyone can ask of you, enough is enough.
    Those kids must have a reason for being so desperate, perhaps you have a better chance of helping them in your new job? Not as directly as you have until now, but on a more general level, directed at the groups that need help, instead of a single person?
    Anyway, best of luck with what ever you choose. And my best wishes for a fast and full recovery.
