: Why, in your opinion, is this board
    : "dead"?]

I can't speak for everyone. I can only relate my experience.

With that in mind, I've turned halfway-grownup. When I started posting here, I was still in high school. I drew thick lines all over my face with black lipstick. We had us on our side and them on their side and the momentum was with us. We could bullshit the straights blind and it would blow their minds. They were utterly mystified, and I think on some level so were we.

My life has changed dramatically from then. I get lots of sleep every night so that I can work in a busy, stressful kitchen during the week. I live in a universe that is thousands of light years away from the one I grew up in. Its as though all the fighting the good fight for freaky people, all the wars of the goths versus the preps, and all the inner turmoil of us versus them, was finally won, once and for all. I have won, and the cosmos are mine to explore, unimpeded, alone.

: Do you think it will recover? Under what
    : conditions?

In its current state, the gothic subculture message board is a one-trick pony. We have read every news article, poured over every book and heard every sound. "Youth murders classmates"; "Unusual teenager feel ostracized"; "Goth subculture hosts freaky club-night"; these articles could have come from 1981 as easily as 2006. What does it matter? What did it ever matter? Maybe we've solved the puzzle of the gothic subculture messageboard. I remember once I showed my friend the website "A Study Of Gothic Subculture" and he said to me, "Why study goths? They were young."

    :
: Where do you think the subculture is
: heading? Do you think it's at it's final
    : hour?

What a great question. Where is culture as a whole going? It is converging. Everything that separates you from me is fizzling into clean, cool, wet air. We are in the midst of the single most prodigious copulation of memes ever witnessed in the history of the stars and heaven and the cosmos. We are taking part in the greatest orgy the human consciousness has ever beheld. We are reaching critical mass.

You could just as well ask me where the Visigoth tribe is going. I don't know that a goth subculture exists but in memory.

: Hmm... three questions is a short poll...

: Do you love me?? Be honest :O
