: Why, in your opinion, is this board
It's old technology. People use MySpace and livejournal more than message boards. However, if you use LJ, there is a group there http://community.livejournal.com/gothsubculture/
You guys have been great to answer people's questions over the years.
I think since the content of the site doesn't get updated regularly, there is probably less traffic now. When I created the site almost ten years ago, nothing like it existed. Now the net is full of info like this. The message was more important than the medium, so I don't mind. The message is out there. It's no suprise to me that this site is mostly an archive now. Although it would have been nice to get a ridiculous amount of grant money and continued the study.
: Do you think it will recover? Under what
Probably not. If it did, it'd be in a different format that I don't have the energy to create.
: Where do you think the subculture is
: heading? Do you think it's at it's final
Not at all. It's stronger than it has ever been. Count the number of goth festivals, record labels, fashion designers etc. compared to where it was ten or twenty years ago. It's evolved and will continue to evolve. Where it's heading? Probably back underground. Remember when Swing music was really popular? Then you didn't hear anything about it again for a while? The die-hards were there before it got big, and they're still there now.
: Hmm... three questions is a short poll...
: Do you love me?? Be honest :O
No. But I hardly know you :)
