I agree with Alicia. only I don't think her reasons are the only ones that this board is dieing.
For a long time most of the activity here on the board wasn't questions from 'outsiders' and us answering them, it was discussions, good ones, between the regulars and random guests.
I think it is simply a matter of chemistry. the people left here are pretty much the same kind, rather nice people.
Earlier we had a very special mix of nice people, not very nice people, weird people or downright crazy people, but all had something on their minds. And they were also very different in their attitude to the subculture and life in general.
So we got these often very heated discussions, because people were so different. We are still of course, but not enough, that it make people spend time and energy to go into long debates.
Some people left the board. people who were important for the balance and the inputs, that would get the other posters going.
We know it from school or work. A good class can be totally destroyed just by one or two newcomers. Or the other way around, a very dull class or job, can suddenly be turned into something much better just by a few new people.
A question of chemistry.
As Alicia said, the board has pretty much served its purpose, at least at the time being, so I don't think the chances, that those newcomers who will blow new life into board acually will come, are very big.
But! The subculture changes all the time, and so does the world, so who knows. Perhaps, if Alicia get the money and the time for further studies, the board will have a new great time.
