I'm a dad. I have two daughters. One is 21 the other is 16, but she will never really grow up, because she is suffering very badly from autism. She can't speak, and never will. She is expressing herself with something called a boardmaker. A little plasticboard with some velcro on, on which you can attach a lot of different simple pictures called pictograms, used for expressing her basic needs. And hopefully later on, she will be able to use more than one pictogram at the time, and in that way make sentences, so to speak. She is catching on very well, and she has become much happier since she got it. No wonder. imagine how frustrating it must be, if you try to tell someone that you are thirsty, and they go put you on the toilet. The reason the board suddenly looks like a lot is going on, is because you have posted in some old threads. The board works slightly different from the last time you were here. Any thread posted in, will appear on top of the board. Even if it is months ago anybody else has posted in it. That's good in my opinion, because that way we won't miss any posts. Another thing is, that some months ago the board was being flooded with spam. So, for the first time ever this board is being moderated. Only to keep the spam away though. And well, of course the complete inappropiate posts aswell I guess.
