    What excuses?
    & as I stated, I really don't remember XD,
though I also did state that this is a good resource of information, so I guess I was directing it ppl outside the culture, like I said, I don't remember. I kind of have a one tracked mind right now, going through hell in the culteral wars(unrelated to Goth) & I can't bring myself to remember. Though I must admit, what I typed sounds rather dumb, so I'm not sure if I want to remember XD
I need to rephrase what I wrote

: I don't think you have to make so many excuses
    : Luna.
: You expressed your opinions on what goth is,
: from a gothic view. I didn't agree with you
: in everything, but I think that is the magic
: that has kept the goth culture alive for
: almost 30 years. The fact that everybody
: have their own opinion on, what goth is.
: I think, what confused me and Blckencht and
: Doc was, that we weren't sure if your post
: was directed at us, the regulars on the
: board or at the people from 'outside' the
: culture, who come here to learn about it.

: We're goths here too you know? And for the
: record, you'll find that goths do have a
: tendency to define and define and define the
: definition out of goth inside out. Go on any
: goth site or community and you'll see it
: happen time and time again.
    :
    :
: The reason medieval cathedrals were labelled
: gothic was because the people who labelled
: them so were trying to insult them. They
: preferred classical architecture and chose
: to call them gothic because gothic came to
    : mean barbaric and uncouth.
    :
: Regarding gothic literature and it's
: influences and developments there are plenty
: of books and websites you can read that will
: inform you on the subject. The same goes for
: goth music which started with Bauhaus,
: Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division and
: The Cure (whether they're goth or not).
: There's a lot of research and literature
: available on goth music as well as films
: that draw influences from gothic literature
: and later films that have had an impact on
    : the goth scene.
    :
: You're the first person I've heard talk
: about these 'five components of goth'. For
: many people goth is about the music firts
: and foremost but that depends on which
: internet community you go visiting.
    :
    :
    :
: Must of been awhile ago, I don't even recall
    : typeing that XD
: I read over what I wrote, duno what the hell
: I was thinking it sounds so crazy.
: I thought I mentioned that it was started by
    : the banchies(I only gave 1 example, though I
: know there were more, as you stated).
: I kind of figured that Gothic was ment to
    : insult the Gothic Cathedrals(I thought I
: typed that too along with that other thing I
: typed),, I kinda had to figure that out on
: my own though, some one told me it was used
: in the term as "enlighting", which
: doesn't really make any sense that it would
: be used as an insult & then some how be
: used as a complament. As for the "5
    : gothic compnents" I doubt I"m the
: only 1 who thinks that, just probably the
: only 1 who puts it that way to shorten it
: up. The 5 asthetics that created what it is
: now from the literature on, the lituerature,
: art, music, style, & sometimes make- up.
    : I admit I probably shouldn't labile them
: components, that does sound dumb. A for what
    : I said first off, like I said, I don't
: remember, I was probably in one of my
    : dumbfounded " oh so smart "
: moods, if you know what I mean(i think I may
: be bipolor). However, it is hard to find a
: relabile reource online. A good percentage
: are either written by ppl who aren't even
: Goth or would be ones who claim to worship
: Satan. Not that this site does. I've scanned
: over it a bit, it seems like a reliable
: source, well formed, so I don't know what I
: was thinking when I commented that. My
    : apology.
