Yes we all do. But being a goth is not what is important, it is being you. As long as you know who you are and what you are, you know more about yourself than most people do. Remember that for the first genenration of goths, the 'goth' term, was a joke more than anything else. At that time you just considered yourself as being 'in the scene'. Hanging out with new romantics, punks and deathrockers and rivetheads. The world changes, and so must 'the scene' do too. Goths themselves look a lot different from what they did in the start. I think it is worse for you, because you have to be with those people everyday. when you get old enough to attend the goth clubs, you'll see, that the subculture still is very much alive, and will accept you for who you are. Oh, and don't feel bad about the lack of response here. This board has been as good as dead for some time. Good luck Tass --Previous Message-- : As a young goth I have to say I : understand the pain first and second : generation goths are feeling. I'm in my mid : teens and whats considered gothic at my : school is usually the metalheads drug : addicts not gothic types. Its because they : wear black and those tripp pants. Theres : even a kid who calls himself satanist : (although he doesn't believe in god) and : goth who walks around in tripp pants and : pisses off everybody. He says he worships : satan and is gothic...i'd classify him as a : jerk. I hate that i'm going to be grouped : with people like him, and that nobody : appreciates what i'm about. People always : seem suprised when I do something nice or : wear more preppy clothes. Moms stare at me : like i'm going to feed on their young! I've : fallen into a subculture that no longer : accepts me. I think i'm goth....but now I : call myself alternative...just to get away : from the stereotypes. I mourn where this : culture is going. :
